Diaz v Penn 137 **** Spoilers *****

Well Im suprised no-one has mentioned the fight card from the weekend gone :o

WOW, Diaz Penn, what a scrap !! It hurt me watching that fight as both fighters are in my top 5 current fave fighters. Credit has to go to Penn for the heart and chin he displayed, at times during that 2nd rd i was convinced Penn was gonna go down, especially from the lethal body shots Diaz was planting deep into his gut's. Both guys looked messed up afterwards. In fact Im sure at one point Diaz started headbutting Penns jabs :o

GSP will have his work cut out I have no doubt about it. His fight with Condit will give us a good barometer of the stand up game and how the two will fair.

Props to Cerrone also for taking on Siver at his own game, those kicks were fairly lethal!!

As for Nelson, that kid has some chin I tell ya !! He didnt even blink when Cro Cop caught him with that left high kick, considering thats his showreel finish, Nelson stood up well to him.

EDIT: Ok, just read that Diaz WILL now face GSP on the SuperBowl weekend fight card in Feb 2012, which means Condit will step aside for the match !!

Hopefully that will also be the same card which will see the rematch of Silva v Sonnen.

It may not have mattered but Penn's ego got involved. He had some fire cracker moments in the standup but Diaz has always had a hard time defending the TD. Penn should have looked to take the fight down and keep it there. I hope Diaz has really improved his wrestling b/c if he hasn't I don't think the GSP fight will be very exciting. Georges' best trait is his ability to take away his opponent's best skill. While Nick is a good submission artist I don't think he can win from the bottom.

I was very impressed with Cerrone and looking forward to his next fight. Nelson has a lot of skill but I just don't know if he has the physical tools to ever challenge JDS or Cain. With Brock fighting Overeem I'd like to see Nelson take on Carwin.

Biggest win of Diaz's scumbag career.

Penn put up a hell of a fight for a round and a half, then got battered, he did fight back bravely in spurts in the 3rd.

IF GSP chooses to stand with Diaz then Nick could win.

But, like you guys I figure GSP will take him down and grind out a decision.

Its a shame because I would love nothing more than to see Nick Diaz taken out on a stretcher, he is a poor excuse for a human being with no respect for anyone or anything on this earth. A wretch of a society.

I hope he's still considering boxing Jeff Lacy, that could be fun to watch.
