Lucian Bute vs. Glen Johnson fight/discussion thread

Here's a separate chat/fight thread for the Bute -Johnson tonight, the Showtime card is scheduled to start @ 9:00 PM EDT here in North America, so i'm guessing it comes on @ 2:00 or 3:00 AM across the pond in the UK/Europe. This fight starts about an hour or more before Angulo vs Kirkland does on HBO tonight @ 10:15 PM EST.

At Quebec City, Canada (Showtime): Lucian Bute vs. Glen Johnson, 12 rounds, for Bute's IBF super middleweight title; Steve Molitor vs. Sebastien Gauthier, 10 rounds, junior featherweights.

I'd love to see Glenn pull off the upset, but it isn't very likely, I don't know if Showtime will show the undercard on this one = Molitor vs. Sebastien Gauthier, but my guess is they will.

This is one of those fights where, even though one guy is a big favorite, I could see anything happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bute stopped Johnson, but I think he'll cruise to a UD.

And I have no interest in the Molitor fight. He's been done for a while.

It'll be interesting to see how Bute's chin holds up, because Johnson should test it, at least in the early rounds.

Just saying, they'll probably show Molitor, because the Showtime card is scheduled for 2 1/2 hours. Hopefully we'll get to see all of the Bute -Johnson fight, and all of Angulo - Kirkland on HBO, B.A.D. will likely have an undercard fight as well.

BTW, Thanks for the sticky, I thought we needed a separate thread, now we're set for tonight, except perhaps for a few beers. ;)

I really can't see anything but a Bute victory, would definetly be surprised if he lost or even if Johnson ran him all that close myself.. I haven't seen Molitor fight in ages but he never really looked the goods to me even when he first came onto the scene stopping that Scottish guy(forget name;D). He has chicken legs and just never seemed sturdy enough to really be elite.

Alright, here we go, Johnson and Bute are friends? I hope not , but that usually makes for a dull fight. :-X

Cote is a local boy from Quebec City, has a record of 17-0, 11 KOs, Teron is from the Bronx, NY and has a record of 25-2-1, 17 KOs.

Teron looks bigger..

Teron is tall. Teron getting clocked early. Hammered in the first minute.

He might go if Cote can keep this up.

Teron struggled in previous fights when he stepped up and he doesn't have a great chin.
