If he's in hospice with liver cancer, it's just a matter of time unfortunately.
He's had a pretty good life though all things considered and that should be celebrated by us fans.

When someone asks me "Why do you love boxing?"
The following is a pretty good answer
"Because it gave us Joe Frazier"
Be at peace Smoke, be at peace.

Smokin Joe will fight the cancer with his dying breath ....... no retreat and no surrender, the man will go out on his shield. Keep hooking, Joe, keep hooking.

Sadly that is the truth.
Hospice is for patients with terminal cancer. My Mother had hospice come and take care of her at our house when I was a boy and she was dying of cancer.
God bless Joe and lets pray for a miracle for him, it looks like thats what it would take.
Lets also remember that he's lived the life of 10 men, and fought like it as well.

A True Legend.
wish him the best!! health-wise and spiritually
Re: Smokin' Joe still hangin tough
Joe knows about perseverance from the time that overweight kid walked into a gym to lose weight until the Olympic Games and a savage path to the Heavyweight title. His epic battles with Ali and Foreman showed courage and he has the blueprint for victory and Joe we expect you to win this one and you're not overrated either.

Thinking a lot about Smokin' Joe.
Is it any surprise he's "hanging tough?"
If he'd ridden with Custer the last stand might still be going on.
