UFC Heavyweight Title Fight ** Spoilers ***
So it's the big one this weekend Cain Velasquez v JDS to be screened on FOX, Primetime in the UK, with the Manny v JMM fight to follow, carnt wait, what a night of fighting
This has got the makings of a classic HW contest. JDS regarded as one of the best boxers in MMA, and arguably the best boxer in the HW division, against Cain, whom without doubt has the best wrestling in the HW division. If JDS can keep the fight standing then I would pick him to win.
If Cain can get the fight to the ground, and keep it there ( not many have taken JDS down and kept him there to inflict much damage ), then Cain will be the strong favourite.
This is a tough one to call, but im going for JDS to pull it off, but would not be suprised if Cain takes it, this is a classic 50/50 pick 'um fight :-\
Just found out the fights on Premier sports, the programme will unscramble when it starts. As long as ha have sky ya will get it for free apparently!

Re: UFC Heavyweight Title Fight ** Spoilers ***
Well as I hoped JDS confirmed his position as Top Dog of the HW division with a unbelieveable TKO of Cain :o, and my second pick of the night Henderson got the decision over Clay to earn his shot at Frankie Edgar.
News came out JDS injured his knee a couple of weeks before the fight and was on crutches at one point. Good on him for not backing out, hope he gets this problem sorted ASAP, dont want him out for too long like Cain was.
Looks like he will face the winner of Brock v Overeem. This fight could follow a similar path to JDS's fight. When Overeem lands on Brock, he will know about it, and it could end as quick as JDS v Cain. Overeem's base is kickboxing, so him against JDS will be a good standup battle, this is what im rooting for thats for sure.

Wasn't a very god stoppage It seemed as though Cain was trying to turn when the ref stepped in. Maybe that's just me being a bitter Velasquez fan. Honestly I think in a rematch Cain wins he should have stuck to his strength and out wrestled JDS and then in the later rounds stood up. He will be back with his title soon enough.

If you watch the replay, it looks like Cain's tapping with his right hand when Big John steps in, but tap or not, I thought it was a good stoppage (JDS fucked up my parlay, so it's not like I was pulling for him).
I think Cain will come back strong after this. He fell into the same trap that Rashad and several others have, "I have power, thus I'm a striker". I bet he remembers he's a wrestler next time out, this KO could end up being the best thing for his career.
Yea i read on a few MMA forums that Cain looked like he tapped. Im more of the impression his hand was slapping off the floor cos he was out for a brief second or two and it was natural for his hand to do that while he was getting battered by JDS.
To be fair to Cain he did try for the takedown, just JDS stuffed it and got out of it.
I think the time off didnt do him any favours, plus both guy's were going into the fight not 100% due to niggling injuries picked up in the build up.

Dude please he did one little shot if he wanted that takedown he would have got it. He said he was going to take the shot if it presented itself.
You just wait! He's coming back and he will mark these works! HE WILL GET HIS TITLE BACK. - Mattboxingfan 17/11/11.

One little shot, c'mon, take those blinker off pal. He went for the shot, didnt get it. Cain would not go half assed into a shoot against JDS. He got clocked by a powerful puncher. He will come back and may get the title back. Thats the great thing about these two, both are for me just that bit better than the rest of the HW roster.
Re: UFC Heavyweight Title Fight ** Spoilers ***
To be fair I think ring rust and all the enormous pressure of UFC LIVE on FOX got to Cain Velasquez a little bit.
I wanted Dos Santos to win, he's one of the nicest guys in MMA and is a tremendous fighter.
Too bad it was over so quickly, but thats how it goes sometimes in MMA with those tiny gloves. And no 10 count for knockdowns.
