Joe Frazier vs Muhammad Ali - March 8, 1971
I have just finished watching this marvelous fight.....Frazier won this by a big margin. I also scored the fight for Frazier and just for fun I scored it with a 10 point must system and below is my final score
1 10-9 F
2 10-9 F
3 10-9 A
4 10-9 A
5 10-9 A
6 10-9 F
7 10-9 F
8 10-9 F
9 10-9 A
10 10-9 F
11 10-9 F
12 10-9 F
13 10-9 F
14 10-9 F
15 10-8 F
Final score 145-139 F
This was a hell of fight and both legends took alot out of each other on this night. Frazier was relentless and Ali didn't have an answer and took the punishment like a true warrior.
Both will never be forgotten
Job Biscuit (RIP JOE FRAZIER...A true CHAMP)!!!

no way in hell did Frazier win by such a wide margin, there's a reason why the knockdown was so important, and it wasn't cause it was Ali's first knockdown, he had already been dropped by Cooper, Frazier won clearly, but it wasn't at all lopsided

Well that's how I scored it.....without audio...maybe you need to sit down and watch it again without commentary...you might get a different angle to the fight
Job Biscuit (amazing how scores can be different...especially when you listen to commentary from Burt Lancaster...lol)!!!!
eh eh!!!

Had a look at the official scores and this is what I found...so my judgement was pretty close to what the judges saw....so i'm not sure what you was watching...but has they say....scoring fights is very subjective
judge: Artie Aidala 9-6 | judge: Bill Recht 11-4 | judge: Arthur Mercante 8-6
Job Biscuit (Had it 10-5 in favour of Frazier)!!!

9-6 and 8-6 aren't dominating wins by any means,
144-140 and 144-142
Re: Joe Frazier vs Muhammad Ali - March 8, 1971
Frazier won the fight with relative ease. Ali wasn't ready for that at all.

Assuming a 10-8 round for the knockdown, Mercante's card would have been 144-141. Frazier didn't need the knockdown; he just needed to survive the 15th round. The fact that he knocked Ali down was symbolic. It was the exclamation mark. You don't have do dominate to win a fight 10-5; you just have to be a little bit better in 2 out of every 3 rounds. You could even be a lot worse in the other five rounds.
