Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
Floyd Mayweather Jr. aide says Manny Pacquiao camp won't even talk fight - ESPN
Quote:
In my opinion, you have three cowards -- Bob Arum, (Pacquiao trainer) Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao," Ellerbe told ESPN.com. "Now we all know the truth once and for all why this fight hasn't been made. It should be clear to everyone that they don't care what the fans want, especially when Floyd is ready, willing and able to fight Manny Pacquiao now. Floyd said if this isn't clear, he doesn't know what is. All along we know why the fight isn't being made. This is the perfect opportunity. Both guys just fought. This is the fight the fans want to see, and it's a disgrace that they are not willing to give the fans what they want. In my opinion, there are three reasons why Arum doesn't want the fight. He knows there is no way that Manny Pacquiao can win, it kills his cash cow, and he wants to do in-house fights where he controls both sides. I said all along why this fight hasn't been made to this point. Manny Pacquiao knows, Bob Arum knows and Freddie Roach knows."
Floyd's side said they reached out and said Arum doesn't want to make the fight.

Ellerbe is a funny guy. How on earth would you believe a guy who told us Floyd would like to fight in May against the little fella, now that floyd himself is saying HE will fight in Feb. (see the other thread).
The same guy told us that no negotiations are happening the 2nd time only to find out from HBO President himself (a man who will not benefit from lying about it) that negotiations took place and that there's no respond from Floyd camp.
Ellerbe is a good PR man, and his reputation will improve if he will let Floyd speak for himself while he echoes ever word his boss says. Like when he echoes "you heard him" and "you aint do shit" over Merchant. He's good at it anyway.
Re: Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
While I'm certain Mayweather would beat Pacquiao and it's the fight I most want to see, anyone associated with Floyd Mayweather should not be talking shit about a boxer not giving the fans the fights they want to see.
Re: Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
Here dummy! Give this to Ellerbe. He obviously thinks people are stupid and doesn't realize people know he's full of shit.

Re: Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
I'm sure most of us are just tired of believing either side. We've been fed lies and spun throughout this whole Pac/PBF debacle. But Ellerbe may be accurate on this one. Arum and Roach are quoted as saying they want/need to pursue a 4th fight with JMM. And after stating he wanted another fight with JMM Roach is quoted as saying that Mayweather is a bit of a counterpuncher and we need to learn how to deal with counterpunchers. I'm sure the JMM/Pac fight showed Roach a lot more than he was willing to accept and he is not taking it lightly. It doesn't make them cowards they don't want to go ill prepared into a PBF fight. I can at least respect Roach for acknowledging mistakes that need to be addressed first before taking on an even bigger, faster, more athletic, and better counterpuncher than JMM. Its not cowardice its knowing when to fold them...until he gets a better hand.
Re: Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
I just seen this over on ESPN too. At first when it said Ellerbe, i thought OK i don't believe not one bit of this. Then you have Richard Schaefer saying the same thing and i believe it somewhat. Bob knows he loses his cash cow when Manny looses to Floyd, and by his statements regarding the story i really think he would rather have Pac-JMM 4 because he really will not have anything to negotiate with JMM being a free agent. Manny needs to step up and tell Bob, i don't want JMM, i want to fight floyd. After the fight all he kept saying is he will do what bob and the team thinks is best for him.
Bob Arums comments, "We are pursuing a fourth fight with Marquez. As far as doing anything definitively, we aren't ready to do anything definitively. When we are ready to make a determination of what we are going to do, we will do it. We are not going to do this in the press. We will do what is in the best interest of ourselves and our client and make a decision when it's time to. If we decide we want to do a rematch with Marquez, there is no reason to sit down with Mayweather. If we want to explore a Mayweather fight, we will sit down with them. But I'm not going to sit down with them just because it's a good show."

Re: Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
There's a little piece up on the Ring about this. Arum and Koncz are both quoted saying that they're not even going to consider who Pac's next opponent will be until January. Meanwhile, Arum and Roach are running around talking about a fourth fight with Marquez (which will prove nothing either way). So Floyd's people have a point.
Schaefer says there are "several[other] big fights" they're considering. If they don't make a fight with Martinez, it's a waste of time.

100% true. And at this stage, do people even want a Pretty Boy Pacman fight? It wouldn't be close. It's like wanting Chavez Jr and Martinez to fight. Sure, Martinez deserves it, but in reality, it won't be a good fight and we all know it.
Re: Ellerbe: The 3 cowards don't want the fight with Floyd
arum would probably make more out of a pac floyd fight than he would for another 3 pac v someone else fights and pac will probly only have another 3 fights at the most so its false logic that arum doesnt want the floyd fight coz it would kill his cash cow
know what i mean?

The video that appears at the top of the article with Skip Bayless as the 'expert' is hilarious. Honestly is that guy for real??
