"I just wanted to stare at him... savor my victory." "He means nothing to me."
Words uttered by Cotto during the post-fight interview with Max Kellerman. Perfect ending to a perfect fight. The only thing that would've made it more perfect is if they had let Margacheato go on, and Miguel had actually KTFO'ed him, or damaged the eye even more.
But what character.... what composure and sense of justice. Also, Kellerman asked Miguel (and in the press conference they asked Miguel) whether this result supported the suspicions that Margacheato had used the plaster wraps in their first fight. Miguel, cool as always, answered: "You guys be the judge." "You can see the difference between now, and 2008."
Miguel outboxed, outpunched, outsmarted (not hard to do)..... and just totally outfought the cheating scumbag tonight. He didn't get pinned to the ropes... he fired combinations to the head and to the eye... he showed tremendous lateral movement... he showed beautiful hand speed... he picked his spots to trade with Margacheato... it was a beautiful thing.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh... the sweet taste of revenge.

Always liked Miguel Cotto and nice to see him, have his most impressive win over the guy he hates the most. Only thing i wish he would of done, was go to the body more. Shane Mosley showed Antonio Margarito is vulnerable to the midsection.

Cotto got revenge and he was just simmering with it, looked great and if looks could kills Margarito would be dead.

Just like the way BHOP did to the press rows after his fight with Pavlik but this had more to it, this was hate for a man who played with your life. Cotto did right.
Re: "I just wanted to stare at him... savor my victory." "He means nothing to me."
Sure, Cotto boxed smart but if we were to compare beatings, then Cotto got the worse one to the point of shaking his head to his corner “I can’t take this anymore”. Tony wanted to continue but the doctors didn’t let him, he lost. On the first fight Cotto nor his corner wanted to continue and his face was just unrecognizable.
Cotto fought well, followed the plan, and came out with a victory.

further proving that Tony without his plaster isn't shit, Cotto arrived in PR at midnight already had a conference at the airport, whatever swelling he had on Saturday night is gone, what happened to that thudding power that Tony had last time against Cotto? oh right it's still in the custody of the California State Athletic Commission

On the other hand, Cotto actually won several rounds in the first fight (down 2 points on 2 cards and even on the third after 10), whereas Margarito was pretty much getting shut out.

It's pretty obvious when you compare hearts Margarito has more than Cotto. Cotto quit in his loss. Margarito didn't. Even against Pacquiao Cotto couldn't take as much as Margarito. Cotto's instincts when overwhelmed are to quit. Margarito are to keep fighting. This is not a diss towards Cotto. Cuz it's a fact. Yet these Cotto worshippers who constantly swear up and down that they show no bias towards there man and call like it is refuse to admit that true fact. Some of them...well most of them. Actually damn near all of them get all defensive and start acting little hoez thinking someone is bad mouthing there idol. What the fuck happened to telling it like it is?

And against Mosley?
