How quickly do you lose fitness/shapness
I took a week off after my last fight (last saturday) as I thought I was finished now until after xmas, I've still ate reasonably well only with the odd biscuit here and there lol, but havn't done any training whatsoever. Anyway I've just been told I can box next thursday If I want. I would like to, I'm not getting any younger and need as many fights as possible. So the question is, how much of my fitness/sharpness would I have lost in a week, and if it was you guys, would you take the fight?
Re: How quickly do you lose fitness/shapness
A week wont impact you at all unless you went off on a complete bender etc, but you say you havent done that so no problem. Its actually good for the body to take a week of rest once in a while. Especially after a fight!

I agree with J.C. You might get tired more quickly, but the loss should be insignificant, unless...as he poionted out....you go on a bender and start downing cakes, alcohol, home made biscuits and all the wrong foods, and then sit down in front of a television all day long.

haha, i see that this matter is weighing on your mind a bit. I often think about this when i'm training, and i would say i lose my sharpness after 3 days of inactivity. Thats sitting around doing shit basically. Then when i'm back in the gym, i'd say like a gym and sparring session later and i feel my rhythm come back.
Too much inactivity is bad though. It shakes your confidence, when you go back to the gym not feeling 100%. In my case right now, i'd be happy i could be back at the gym at 70%. Partying is no good :p

You're right partying is no good haha maybe it's a southpaw thing?;) Couldn't fight in the end anyway, hurt my hand at work dropped a steel bar on it can't even clench my fist so thought not worth taking the fight. Can sit back and enjoy xmas now :)
