Gennady Golovkin v. Lujuan Simon Tonight
There are whisperings that Golovkin is the truth at middleweight even though he looks more like a watchmaker than a boxer :cwm32:. Allegedly, he took Saul Alvarez to school in sparring on multiple occasions. He is the only person to have stopped Kassim Ouma. He has a decorated amateur background. As an amatuer, he beat Andre Dirrell, Matvey Korobov, Andy Lee, Yordaignes Despaigne and Lucian Bute. Tonight, he takes on rugged, but beatable, Lujuan Simon, Philadelphia, PA. Simon has lost everytime he has stepped up: Abraham and Sylvester beat him. Yet, he is a solid test at this stage of Golovkin's career. Is Golovkin Sturm's mandatory or does Sturm not have mandatories as a Super Champion? If he is Sturm's mandatory, given Sturm's recent form, that could be Golovkin's coming out party.
Here are Simon and Golovkin at the weigh in:
Boxing - Golovkin, Simon make weight; bout will now also be for the IBO middleweight title
Maybe someone can get me a stream for this fight tonight?

Wlad said "Golovkin beats Sturm easy" so apparently Gennady has made some fans already

After Sturm's showing against Murray, Pirog said Golovkin beats Sturm too. What are the rules for a Super Champion in terms of mandatories? Bilbo?

I've seen Golovkin a couple of times. Looks very tough indeed. Anyone know what time this kicks off. Wouldn't mind watching msyelf!?

Nice counter-left hook. Golovkin seems to have the whole package.
Re: Gennady Golovkin v. Lujuan Simon Tonight
Would love to see Golovkin facing someone with a pulse next.

Any of (and I know some of them won't take him up on the fight but some surely will):
Pirog, Martinez, Geale, Proksa, Sturm, Murray, Macklin, Rubio, Barker, Chavez, Zbik, Spada, Khurtsidze, Lee, Quillin, Ishida...
I wouldn't complain too much if it was any of the the following either McEwan, Britsch, Lyell, Korobov, Sanchez, Jacobs, Lemieux
Thats the thing with the division...there is a lot of contender types out there so why is he fighting the likes of Nunez and Tapia (both are garbage, Nunez is facing the 5-0 (4) Alex Theran as Therans handlers think they'll go throw him), Ouma was a Light Middleweight who gave Golovkin an awful lot of trouble and Simon was a guy who hadn't won a fight in 2 years...so you right, I wasn't impressed. Taking out a semi retired opponent isn't something amazing, fight someone live and someone who wants to win who is a natural Middleweight.
It's not like I even think he'd lose to the guys I listed...I just want him to beat someone worth a dime.
