pacquaio vs peterson - why not??

I read that Freddie Roach has mentioned Lamont Peterson as a possible opponent for Manny Pacquaio next fight.

I dont think the fans would want to see a Marquez 4th fight or a return with Cotto for Pacquaio , right now tim bradley is the fans choice to fight the pacman.

But wht not Peterson , it works out perfectly for him.....

1. he gets paid more than he would get vs Khan or Bradley..i think he get $2m minimum for a Pacquaio fight.

2. he doesnt need to risk his 140 ibf and wba titles

3. he will still be Able to rematch Bhan and bradley especially if they stay at the 140 weight.

4. hes a free agent so the fight is easy to make

From what I have read, this fight probably will happen in the next few months. It makes sense, especially since Floyd will be spending some time away in jail.

It shouldn't happen because it's a stupid fight. Peterson arguably beat Khan, I feel he didn't, and Khan is no Pacquiao. He may be faster with his hands, but Pacquiao hits harder, stands his ground more, and is much harder to beat mentally. He's just a better fighter in every aspect. Peterson isn't on his level, maybe Bradley who was clearly a level higher than Peterson can compete with Manny, but not Peterson who has way too many things going against him vs Manny.

It shouldn't happen, Peterson gets beat up bad. From Peterson's side it'll be a good earner but for the boxing fans it will be a one sided beat down. A better fight would be Pac- Bradley or a 4th fight with Marquez.

I think he would get stripped of his belts if he fought in another division.You never know with the abc boys.

I honestly think Pacquiao would dominate him bad and stop him. Beating Khan in my opinion doesn't prove much (For Peterson). He's better off rematching Marquez than this bs fight. I know mayweather is gone but he could at least fight bradley or someone else.. I'm just saying.

Peterson takes lots of damage in subtle ways. Against Pac I think the roof comes crashing down on him badly. He's not on Pacs level, he wasn't on Bradleys either. Manny is nearing the end of career and shouldn't burn fuel on a gimme unless he just wants a payday. Just cut to the chase and fight Bradley and Peterson and Khan need to have a second go.

Peterson should be fighting Khan not Pacquiao, Id be pretty annoyed if I was Khan and he went on to fight Pacquiao. Peterson can't avoid a rematch with Khan after the controversial circumstances, fair enough if Peterson beat Khan in style then maybe with Pacquiaos lack of opposition then he would have earned the showdown. However he didn't and what would a beaten up Peterson do if Khan fought him after the Pacquiao showdown? It wouldn't make the fight is profitable as it would be if it was made now IMO. Peterson has a chance to beat Khan again, but I dont think he has any chance to beat Pacquiao at 147. Peterson should be pushing a fight with Bradley more than Pacquiao, a Pacquiao showdown would do nothing for him apart from a payday.

IMO, for Peterson he should settle the score with Khan if he believes hes good enough he should do it and if he wins again then he really is a name. I think he should push a rematch with Bradley and try and avenge his only loss if he could get by Khan. Imagine if he was to beat Khan in the rematch and beat Bradley then make a megamoney showdown with Pacquiao? That would be better for him.

I would prefer for Pacquiaos next fight to be against Bradley, hes earned it more than Peterson IMO. He would also be a tougher test for Pacquiao then Peterson would be. Styles wise Bradley is causing more trouble than Peterson would. Peterson would be coming forward getting caught flush a lot against Pacquiao, I think he would get stopped mid to late. Bradley however I think he would lose on points to Pacquiao, but he would give a good account of himself. He would have some joy against Pacuqiao if he tries to box, but he wont be able to hurt Pacuqiao at all. He lacks power IMO.
