Ortiz-Berto II may be postponed
Berto hurt his arm today in training, and awaiting the results of a MRI to see whats wrong. I'm thinking if he's getting a MRI 2 weeks before a fight, it's not going to happen.
Andre Berto injures arm, fight with Victor Ortiz in jeopardy, sources say - ESPN

As long as this fight can happen I am alright with the waiting, this one is written packed action all over.
Re: Ortiz-Berto II may be postponed
It's officially postponed now. MRI confirmed a ruptured biceps.
Re: Ortiz-Berto II may be postponed
Berto has had some serious injuries over the years and I think this will significantly delay him fighting again. I really thought Berto was going to smash Ortiz this time.

Does anyone have a realistic idea of how long this takes Berto out? Should Victor Ortiz face Khan now?

By just doing some reading on Google, i found it takes anywhere from 6-12 weeks to heal. So if it takes the full 12, plus a training/rehab, we could be looking at 4 months. I guess the best case senario would be 2 1/2 -3 months. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Sounds like a good idea. But by the time it would take Khan to train for the fight, Berto would probably be ready to go.

With everything thats going on, Khan might be the one facing Berto instead of Ortiz. Its looking like Peterson is going to fight JMM. Now its being reported that the winner of M&M vs Alexander will face Ortiz in June. IN which Khan is left out again. But knowing GBP, Khan probably will fight Mike Jones or Randall Bailey(if they don't fight each other) for the vacant IBF title. Or have Pacman strip so Khan can fight someone like Kell Brock for the WBO title. OOORRR, have Khan fight Paulie again if Paulie can win his fight for the WBA title.
Sidenote: Since Berto never fought after giving up the IBF title, can he get it back and be the belt holder? I know he's wishing he never gave the title up. He will still be champion. Injury and all.
