German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
After the shocking brawl between Chisora & Haye it looks like Chisora going to be handed a one year ban
Haye could be handed the same punishment if he asks to get his license back
I understand and agree with this if it happens but I was looking forward to these two fighting...but will have to wait now until sometime in 2013
job biscuit (never mind)!!!
eh eh!!!
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
They have generated more publicity for boxing this weekend than the rest of the boxing world has in the last year.
I would insist they fight each other in the ring to settle it.
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
I don't agree with banning them, but if they broke the law then charge them. Haye should be done for assault, Chisora should have a month in the loony bin and then let's have a fight between them both.
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
They can't ban Haye as he's not registered as a UK fighter ;)
Apparantley back in the uk him and Booth as Adam was called and the tone was a uk one hahahaha ;D
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
if they do get banned( I think they couldn't really have any argument) then I guess they will either need to settle it on the streets of london or my preference in a hell in the cell match at the next wwf ppv with cactus jack as the special referee :S

I agree I'd like to see them fight but this generated exactly zero publicity in the US. It didn't so much as crack the mainstream news. It got one sentence in a one-paragraph AP blurb that was buried in the New York Times, for instance.
Ali's birthday celebration on the same day was 10000x bigger of a story. Oscar's cross-dressing and partying was also much bigger. Even Mayweather's Jeremy Lin tweet got more coverage than this.
Was this actually a big story in the UK (aside from boxing-only outlets)?

The amount of publicity this event has received is huge, I've heard people talking about the brawl almost everywhere I went today. I think a fine would be better than a ban, so they can fight each other whilst the hype is still alive.
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
Both are a disgrace and should be banned for boxing for up to a year. They may have created publicity but it is bad publicity which is not needed in the sport. There is an art and discipline to the sport and what these two did was show that they were no better than two thugs in the street.
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
th is a ell drafted letter from Haye's solicitor which does not mention Haye throwing the first punch and still wanting to keep fighting Klit and not be arrested or banned from the sport.
Re: German authorities & BBB of C going to spoil the party
Well thought out and careful letter.

Hilarious! I love the move from "Chisora did this, Chisora did that, all threatening things," to the 100% passive voice to describe the altercation. You'd think Haye hadn't even participated.
I loved this too:

I was then happy to banter back and forth with Bonte and Klitschko, keen to ascertain whether he (Vitali) would stay true to his word and reiterate his desire to do what his younger brother couldn't do - knock me out.
Only a professional talker like Haye could behave as if "not getting knocked out" was some kind of victory to brag about and use to embarrass a potential opponent.

Statement from Chisora:
Quote:
“Following the extensive media coverage that my WBC World Heavyweight title challenge against Vitali Klitschko in Munich at the weekend has attracted, I feel I must wholeheartedly apologise for my part in the regrettable scenes both before and after what was to be the biggest night of my career.
Whilst my behaviour was inexcusable, there were many things that went on behind the scenes that ultimately caused my frustrations to boil over, however this is of course no excuse.
I cannot go into the specific details at the moment as quite rightly the British Boxing Board of Control will be investigating this matter and also the altercation that took place between David Haye and myself where I was struck by a bottle.
Despite all of this, the bottom line is, I have let my family, my team and worst of all the sport I love down. I acknowledge that my actions were totally unprofessional, with or without provocation.
Now, with a cool head and the benefit of hindsight, my actions at the weekend were regrettable to say the least and I am deeply embarrassed at the scenes reported in the media.
I acknowledge that I have a duty as a professional boxer to conduct myself properly at all times, especially with boxing being a sport of controlled aggression. I have let lots of people down on Saturday night, including myself, and for that I am truly sorry.
In Munich I fully cooperated with the German authorities and as a result I was released without charge. I will be making no further comment at this stage and will wait for any formal hearing to take place.”
