im planning on getting a big bag of the protein mix soon, and i was wondering how long (Weightlifting 4days a week) it would take me to gain about 10pounds of muscle, or would it be faster for me to just eat the food to get up to 150-155 then turn it into muscle?
It doesnt work that way. Its a long slow process, there has to be a Balance. More muscle takes a Higher Cardio output to make the extra muscle produce, Good results without Stress.
How old are you?
If you are early 20s its not unreasonable to expect 10lbs of muscle in a year
Youd have to start off lean and expect to put double that of fat on too
Your routine and diet would need to be sound :)
In my opinion, building muscle for the sake of having more muscle is silly. It's all about functionality, is it not?
Well i guess what i wanna know is how much could i gain in a year at 17 yrs old, cuz ima prolly start bulking up like right b4 i turn 17

i just wanna be back to where i was in strength and keep up with my friends, maybe stronger haha cuz ive lifted for 3 yrs, but havent lifted for like 2-3 months and im losing my muscle. wanna get it back up
Without getting into a long discussion...strength does not equate to how much muscle you have. I have seen guys with medium build have more strength then a bigger built up guy.
You talk about putting on weight and then turning it into muscle....you can't build muscle from fat. I'm not putting down weight training or building yourself up...but you have to ask Why? We called it putting on armour, and it works with some people, but remember, the more you put on, the more you have to drag around in the ring....and every fighter has seen big muscle guys come on strong for the first few rounds and then wear out in the end. I have actually seen some guys get so big in the arms and shoulders, it had negative effects on their hooks and cross. There is a lot of information missing in why you want to put on weight...but my advice is to concentrate on boxing skills and movement...and the lighter you can be, the faster and more effective you can be. The comments given by others have a lot of merit and you need to think this out before you get into doing the wrong thing with you weight and muscle mass.

bodybuiling is about routine, diet and dedication
look up some bodybuilding routines, ripetoes starting strength is a good one (although that is probly spelt wrong), or push/pull variations are nice too
look into suppliments too
You might look better, but please think of the functionality.
Having bigger muscles will hold you back in the ring. Great fighters in history haven't built muscle to be good in the ring. The muscle that they did have came naturally with their boxing training. Mike Tyson didn't lift weights in his prime. More muscle equates to the requirement of more oxygen. Watch Bob Sapp fight to see how quick the big oaf gasses.
Also, while we're at it, screw your friends. They're not there to compete with you. If they're stronger, and you have the naturally boxing abilities of a decent fighters, well their strength won't help them out very much if you want to put a whooping on them.
