Haye-Chisora licence farce,is UK is no longer in control of its own country??????????
This is not a thread about if you agree about the Haye-Chisora fight rather its about the fact its been licence by a foreign country on British soil and the people who run British Boxing cant seem to do any thing about it.
I think this reflects on Britain and its relationship with the EU in general ,we are no longer in charge of what happens in our own country.:-\
Re: Haye-Chisora licence farce,is UK is no longer in control of its own country??????
its madness but to be honest it just highlights how much say and clout the BBBofC really has in boxing.
NONE :-\

how many of us want to see this fight?
Re: Haye-Chisora licence farce,is UK is no longer in control of its own country??????
I'll grant you I've never lived in the UK(in fact I even thought it consisted of more than one country:p), but I doubt that the sport of boxing has many implications outside of itself no matter where you are talking. Shady things have always happened in all jurisdictions, the commissions are out to make money, not set moral precedents.

I don't think it's anything to do with the EU. I think Mickey Duff could have done exactly the same thing pre common market entry in say 1969. There might have been more outcry back then and the government may have stepped in and tried to find a way to block the fight but because there's limited outcry today and the thing makes money and helps the economy the government won't do a thing.
Agree completely about the EU running everything in europe today. Hopefully the euro falling apart will put a crimp in their style.

We must remember no murder was committed, it was a fracas not like Tyson biting people's ears off
BBBC have shot themselves in the foot a life ban is to much the punishment did not fit the crime,if I
am correct no criminal charges were brought against ether fighter.
You could see this coming BBBC have been made to look a Jackass, and to be honest they folded under
pressure form the media to act.
As I said no crime no charges yes punishment but no life bans,:o

Uhm....it does contain more than one country, hence United Kingdom. Pretty pointless to have a United Kingdom consisting of only one country. Dia Bando has hit the nail on the head. The BBBOC don't do enough to ensure British Boxers are represented and supported and then over react to what was a pretty low level scuffle between Boxers outside of their jurisdiction. A scuffle that was not persued as a prosecutable offence beyond simple interviews by the German legal authorities. The fact that Warren has exploited a legal loophole to do a Barnum should not surprise anyone. Neither should it dismay them. Boxing started in fairside booths and circus tents and has always been an entertainment business.
Boxers have lost there licence for GBH and ABH which are serous offences, and some have paid the price prison time. For Haye & Chisora it was trial by the media and the political correct BBBOC, yes they
were bad lads Chisora had a heft ea fine.and a life ban from the WBC :o You could all see what was coming the BBBOC caved in to outside media pressure.
Stupid really all the thing that have happened in boxing over the many years, I agree both fighters did not cover themselves with glory.Yes the name of boxing was tarnish for a week or so, let them fight
and let us see a cracking HW fight we need one.:)
Re: Haye-Chisora licence farce,is UK is no longer in control of its own country??????
It is a disgrace and should not be allowed. It makes the BBBC look toothless.

Oh it'll have a great outcome miles....remember the last time debt was heaped on the backs of the Germans??? The French going with that fucking Socialist will reject any austerity measures and leave everything to Germany to pay for and take care of and this will reignite hostilities we haven't seen in over 60 years....bravo, good thinking Europe.
Spain will collapse, Greece will continue to fester, Portugal will collapse....it's going to get bad
