Victor Ortiz vs. Josesito Lopez 6/23

Looks like Victor is getting a lil easier fight than he would have had against Berto. But, you never know.
I wasn't too impressed with Lopez last time out, don't think he has the firepower to hold off Ortiz.

Who cares about this fight? It's not Berto!!! They could have at least found a better named opponent. Devon Alexander for one. After the Mattysee vs Soto fight, it's light out for me!!! I'll read about the fight Sunday morning.
BTW, only if they would have waited another 48 hours, Berto would still be there after they found so little that the fight would have still been on.
OOOO Yeah
WHO CARES!!!

Lopez looks skinny and weak, is he any good? I have gone off Ortiz after his pathetic showing against Floyd.

Lopez should have won his last big fight, not long ago on an undercard. He is currently trained by the same people that train Chris Arreola, out of Riverside. His original trainer, he died a few years back, was a very good guy. I had the pleasure of meeting him on several occassions.
Lopez is noramlly a very aggressive and hard punching fighter; when I saw him last, in2006, he was punching very hard. In his last fight, that I am aware of, he lost to a GBP fighter on a GBP card. I thought he won, be he waited too much. He could've and should've ended the fight.
Ortiz is there to be hit and Lopez used to be a pretty big puncher. He is probably 30 now, which makes me feel old, but he should be a pretty live opponent. If he comes to win there is no reason why he shouldn't.

I believe your right about him getting jobbed against a Goldenboy fighter, it was Jessie Vargas.

I used to see Lopez a lot when he was a kid starting out, and I've tried to pay attention to his career since he turned pro, but I haven't followed boxing much over the last 6-7 years. It would make my year for him to beat Ortiz.

That sounds great, hope he pulls it off now.

Yeah me too. Until grey said something I was confusing Lopez with the guy who fought Stevie Forbes last time out on the Mayweather undercard and looked lackluster.
Too many prospects sometimes to keep track.
