Is Adrien Broner the second coming of the "Prime" Roy Jones?
I believe his career is starting out in a lighter weight class...but I see alot of similarities here. Roy Jones in his prime, in my opinion, was the closest thing my generation (i'm 32) ever got to a Muhammad Ali. That rare combination of speed, power, talent, and flash. This Broner kid has the tassles, the power, the showmanship, and the speed. I'm just waiting for the fight where he puts his hands behind his back in the middle of the round, then nails his opponent with a right hook. I just hope this kid is smarter with his money than Jones so he doesn't have to keep fighting just to pay his bills and end up with 8 losses and fighting into his 40's. Let me know what you guys think

Davila, all good points. I was mainly looking at the flash and the fact that he has, in my opinion, an excellent ko percentage, and he's damn quick. But you're onto something with those points. I'll have to watch him a little more closely next month.

He isn't like Roy that much IMO except the speed and power. He's seems taller for his weight class, but Roy was pretty tall at 154 when he started. Adrien seems more of a true boxer, less dynamic offensively. Not that he isn't as explosive, but Roy had a lot more imagination in terms of his arsenal and the combinations he would come up with, while Adrien works behind his jab and technical defense a little bit more. I haven't seen Adrien show he is at Mayweather or RJJ's level even early their career yet, but he certainly has a done of potential. That fight with Ponce De Leon is really a big dark spot for him IMO.

His style looks closer to that of a tall Mayweather than Roy.
