'New' Technical Boxers of This Era
Hello all I wanted to compile a list of boxers that generally win fights due to their mastery of the sweet science instead of speed/power.
As for the 'new' part, I only want to include boxers that are either new titleholders, prospects, and/or contenders.
So far and in no particular order I have:
Andre Ward (best in fighter in a long time though its not pretty its effective as hell, also a master of distance)
Chad Dawson (excellent right handed jab and can keep you at the end of it all night long if required)
Guillermo Rigondeaux (Sharpshooter extraordinaire, can consistantly land a hard cross to the body)
Dmitry Pirog (Fantastic at cutting off the ring, great upper body movement, sublime pressure fighter)
Adrien Broner (Great counter puncher, manages to stay in balance even with his wide stance)
I'm missing a few in the lighter divisions I know but those are the ones that I can come up with. I'd appreciate your input and feedback

I knew there was a Garcia or Gonzales I left out. Thanks yeah I know exactly who you're talking about too. He really is fun to watch.
Re: 'New' Technical Boxers of This Era
maybe it was too obvious, but you cant have this list without having Mayweather on there!

I think the key point here is the 'New' part ergo no Floyd Mayweather Jr., no Wladimir Klitschko, no Bernard Hopkins, etc etc.
Demetrius Andrade?
Jessie Vargas?
Would those guys make the cut?

I see.
You mentioned him then, but of the recent generation, not quite new, I don't think there are many more technically proficient than Wlad. He is textbook.

Anselmo Moreno should be mentioned too.

Whilst they are not new Guzman and Donaire have very good boxing skills.
Re: 'New' Technical Boxers of This Era
The first 2 technical boxers you mention will be fighting one another. Not many people are excited by the fight but I believe that Ward is a very underrated and unappreciated fighter.
He has beaten Froch and Kessler convincingly and it was Dawson that offered to fight him at 168lb so Ward is taking on the best available challengers around.
Re: 'New' Technical Boxers of This Era
Camilo Perez-He's only a prospect but **** me is he ever a fighter with an amazing boxing brain!
Ryuji Hara-Ultra smooth Japanese Minimumweight, most won't see much of him but he's special.
