I think this fight is pitch perfect for both fighters at their respective points in their careers. They have both recently made huge advancements against heavily favored opposition they were not expected to gain triumph over initially; Paulie with a foreign TKO victory over Vyacheslav Senchenko and Lopez with a classic, underdog win over Victor Ortiz. Style wise, they are fire and ice and I think it would make for an explosive clash that could end abruptly for either of them. If Paulie won, he could showcase to home-country boxing fans his threatening skills and go on to face greater opposition in Bradley, bite into the Ortiz drama, or a comeback fight for Mayweather. If Lopez won, he would earn his right of passage in to the "A-Ranking" sanctum and become a brand name. To top it off, they are both classy and tough as hell.
What do you guys think?

I'd like to see Paulie against Lopez and Ortiz. I thought his win against Senchenko was brilliant and I think he'd beat Lopez and give Ortiz a good fight.

Didn't see Paulies last fight so not sure who comes out on top here..
Paulie was brilliant in his last fight. Fighting away from home, taller and bigger fighter, undefeated and yet Paulie pulled it off. This would be a good fight.

I think this would be a good fight for Lopez. In the past I've seen (and heard) of him fighting guys that move a lot. He uses his height well and punches hard to the body and wears them down. I'm a little concerned about the way he was punching the other night; I've seen him much tighter and more compact with his punches. My friend thinks it was because he was fighting a southpaw. I don't know.
Re: Josesito Lopez vs Paulie Malinaggi
He was throwing wide crazy right hands but his left hooks were generally tight. I think he was just trying to get a bigger man off his back and apparently he did. You are right though that he let his technique slip substantially last fight.
Re: Josesito Lopez vs Paulie Malinaggi
he was far from being a power puncher but Paulie's punches did seem to have a bit more pop in them last time out, IMO if he maintains his speed and movement it could be a pretty interesting fight, we at least know that if Lopez breaks Malignaggi's jaw that well Paulie's not gonna bitch out with only 3 rounds left in a fight he's clearly winning
