The south doesn't mean London, the westcountry like parts of Ireland is a virtual fishtank. I am sure places like Boscastle were just imagining all the cars floating through the village. Look, whether you're from north or south, we had the proper rain in Wales about a week before it got to you.
At one point our village was cut off with the roads north, south and west all flooded out, and there is no road east.
Essentially, what I'm getting at, is that the whole of England is just small change compared to the epic Welsh rain.

Australia's not exactly known for it's dull, stable climate like the uk now is it? I'm sure you can see why a super cell storm that happened last week in the UK (a country with a boring climate) may be more topical to brits than a two year old australian one?

Can't say anybody thought they were tough because of the weather though (or a blacksmith... Have a word haha), most just thought it was amazing, damage etc aside it was fantastic to see.
