Fighters need to stop predicting knockouts

I think in many cases it's a bad idea. I believe they essentially "tip their hand" and ultimately give their opponent a huge advantage. If I'm fully aware that my opponent is planning to knock me out, I'm going to make necessary adjustments and may even catch him being overly aggressive.

I understand that fighters do this all the time, especially the knockout artists, but there have been situations where fighters were better off keeping their mouths shut. Khan, Pavlik vs Hopkins, Hearns vs Hagler...to name a few.

I agree with you, but not for the same reason. I think it's one of the most disrespectful things one fighter can say to another. If one fighter is so superior that he can pick the round, it isn't a contest and that means he's just a thug who beats people up for money, pleasure or both. Ali did it and I thought it was cool for a while, then I tried putting myself in the beaten fighters place.
I'm looking for a KO early or I'm looking for a KO late is the way to do it and it shows some class. Hey, Ali stopped predicting so has to be wrong, right?
