KO safety for the boxer and those around.

I recently have been reviewing some old tapes and a question about KO Safety came up.
mainly after watching the fight between "Hasim Rahman vs Lennox Lewis"
After Lewis was KO and then helped up. They pinned him to the ropes. Now I've seen them hold their hands down or wait tell they are done "fighting a Ghost" but i don't know of any regulation or standard on how to handle Knockouts?

Is there a list of to do's? or anything like that?
or what are some precaution that you take when this happens to your boxer?
