What constıtutes a "faır fıght"? Sımply the same weıght dıvısıon?
So ıf Lennox Lewıs (a heavyweıght for those who forgot) and a 184 pound Rocky Marcıano (another "heavyweıght") fought, who on thıs forum "wıth a clear conscıence" would claım that THAT would be a faır fıght as they are both lısted as heavyweıghts?

if it was by today's standards Rocky would have to gain 16 lbs and then the fight would go on, it's that simple, there weren't all these lights and supers at that time, there are now, it's not really that complicated

You don't actually have to weigh above the CW limit to fight as an HW.

oh I know, Jones only weighed 190 when he fought Ruiz, I just rounded it to 200 so that it would be 2 heavies by TODAY'S standards

yea, also Marciano was always open for one of Lewis' best punches, the uppercut, and his was devastating

Jess Willard weighed an estimated 245 lbs against the 187 pound Jack Dempsey and well we all know how that fight ended, railroad spike is irrelevant, Jack handled the much bigger man with ease, it was a different time and fighters were just that, fighters, they didn't bitch and moan or ask for special weight divisions, once they started doing that well that's when we started getting all the supers and juniors
