Which is the BEST fantasy sport?
On another thread, a debate goes on about who has the better sports: the UK or the U.S. It's a no-win argument, as most Americans will side with football (American), baseball, basketball, etc...... while the Brits will choose football (Association), cricket, rugby, etc. Personally, I enjoy all of them, with the exception of cricket and rugby.
But what sport lends itself best to fantasy sports? Today there's all kinds of fantasy sports: American football, Association football, baseball, basketball, cricket, hockey, hell.... even golf has a fantasy league. But which is the BEST fantasy sport hands down?
The undisputed answer, my friends, is Fantasy Football (American).
No other sport has the individual positions with specialized functions that American football has. No other sport features the intricate plays that involve either a run or a pass, with huge fantasy implications. No other sport features players who excel at one thing, regardless of how the rest of the team does. Think about it. I've been asked to join fantasy leagues in baseball and basketball. Bo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ring!! So I have a good draft position and happen to choose Lebron James and Kobe Bryant in my team. What the hell else do I have to do for the rest of the season besides sit and watch my team take the trophy? No strategy, no complicated stats, no field conditions to consider.... and most of all... no choosing between drafting a quarterback or a running back with the first pick of the draft.
And it's because of the nature of the games themselves. Basketball, like Assoc football and hockey, is a never-ending flow of scoring and defending. Anyone can score, although granted, in football you have the attackers and the midfielders who obviously have more of a chance to score than the defenders. But it's basically the same thing over and over.
This has nothing to do with the "fan-friendliness" of the sports themselves. I love both types of football, and am an avid fan of most FIFA tournaments, just like I'm a huge fan of the NFL. We're talking fantasy sports here.

I have really cum to appreciate women's beach volleyball, not sure of the exact reason but really excited about watching it during the Olympics.

I'd def have to go with Womens gymnastics. Ya get that dirty old man feeling buuuut justify it all in the name of rooting for your country, hoorah patriots! Unless it's that one black haired gal from Romania. Holyhell :o
