When Mills Lane was still with us and active, I always enjoyed watching him. He was so damn fierce and would not take any back talk.
Now I prefer Steve Smoger because he stays out of the way, let's them fight and you can forget he's even in the ring, sometimes.
Name as many as you want.
I agree with your pick of Smoger, he's always in good fights and lets the guys work on the inside.
I also like Nady as he's a smart ass, saying things like "Okay don't touch glovs" and takes no shit, he screwed up in stopping the Judah vs. Tzsyu fight prematurely but that was a decade ago.
I like Tony Weeks and Kenny Bayless. I get to see Robery Byrd a lot here in Vegas. I actually shook his hand at FNF last spring. Nady is too robotic. I liked Mitch Halpbern from the 90's.
Kenny Bayless, far and away. Great ref, invisible in the ring except when he gives those awesome, super-intense, bugged-out-eyes ten-counts.

And my bad, Kenny Bayless is a great referee, I forgot about him. Probably the best out there.

Smoger is my favourite. Doesn't break up infighting because apparently he too realzies that it too is a fight of boxing. That and he's seldom, if ever, out of position and the man officiates with integrity.

Steve Smoger and Frank Cappucino are my favourites. Both are quite funny short guys who let the fighters fight and don't take no crap. It's strange the sort of people that command respect in the ring, you'd have thought two 6ft5 guys would not take any notice of them.
I'd also like to mention my huge dislike of Eddie Cotton on the other end of the scale, "STOP PUNCHING STOP PUNCHING STOP PUNCHING" .... fuck off
