Andrew 'Freddy' Flintoff...
Is turning into a pro boxer?? Story is in sky sports, on my phone so can't post the link but will do later. Can't believe this really, he was a fantastic cricket player but never in a millions years would I have thought old freddy Flintoff would have got the gloves on....wonder how he gets on. Apparently Barry McGuigan is training him?? And he's making his pro debut in November in Manchester.
Re: Andrew 'Freddy' Flintoff...
Didnt he reire from Cricket because of an injury?

I would be gutted if he got knocked out, because hes such a great guy. Hopefully he fights somebody shit and gets through it with the a win!
Re: Andrew 'Freddy' Flintoff...
I wouldn't begrudge anyone having a go at anything. What I would do though is prefer that young emerging talent in boxing who have made it their lives and are giving it their all get some column inches rather than half arsed tv shows "Giving Something A Go" where someone from another sport "Dangles" their foot in.
If he wasn't fit to continue playing Cricket, then no way in hell he's at all fit to train and fight as a boxer. I've been wrong about things before though. Maybe he's out of cash. ;D

No I doubt it will be a cash thing, he will have no doubt earned enough to live comfortably. I just think hes up for a challenge in life and would get involved in anything. I reckon it will be a one off with it being a TV programme, but we will see wont we.

thats why I want hom to get KTFO to show how hard it is and not to be taken lightly.
I remember James Cracknell getting absolutely sparked a few years back in a charity bout. Should have been given more publicity that one. Scary
Re: Andrew 'Freddy' Flintoff...
I agree with Mark. It would be better to see Flintoff get beaten up.
I love boxing too, but I wouldn't try to get into it at my ripe age of 32 and likewise everyone here would be hoping I get flattened.
Flintoff too.

I didnt l ow about this but just found it on youtube.
That was a hell of a ko!
Amateur hour though, what the fuck did the ref think he was doing lifting his head up! Also, no medical personell in there either, just a couple of inept trainers lifting him up to his feet while he still cant even stand and plonking him on a stoll in the centre of the ring to be laughed at! What a joke:rolleyes:

Re: Andrew 'Freddy' Flintoff...
I see it being more a celeb boxing match than him facing a pro boxer.
If he does face a real pro the opponent will probably be paid to made him look good. There is no way that someone whos never boxed before can get ready to fight a pro in only a couple of months!
If it is genuine and a genuine journeyman pro, I think Fred Flintstone gets embarrassed.
