Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
This might be a decent tussle, worth hunting a stream for.
At Glasgow, Scotland: Ricky Burns vs. Kevin Mitchell, 12 rounds, for Burns' WBO lightweight title; John Simpson vs. Dai Davies, 10 rounds, junior lightweights; Scott Harrison vs. TBA, 8 rounds, lightweights.
and:
At Wroclaw, Poland: Krzysztof Wlodarczyk vs. Francisco Palacios, rematch, 12 rounds, for Wlodarczyk's WBC cruiserweight title
and if you're interested:
At Belfast, Northern Ireland (ESPN3.com): Carl Frampton vs. Steve Molitor, 12 rounds, for Frampton's Commonwealth junior featherweight title; Lee Selby vs. Martin Lindsay, 12 rounds, for Selby's British and Commonwealth featherweight titles; Paul McCloskey vs. Manuel Perez, 10 rounds, junior welterweights; Eamonn O'Kane vs. Craig Windsor Jr., 10 rounds, middleweights.
bon appetit!
Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
Very excited to see Burns v Mitchell. I was going to fly up for it but have a family party to go to instead will have to catch the replay on Sunday. Burns is so fit but if Mitchell is at his very best he can score a stoppage. He hits very very hard. Burns has home advantage and that will spur him on and Mitchell might have to come from behind but I can't see Burns keeping him at bay for 12 rounds. Both quality fighters and I hope they don't let their friendship get in the way of a war.
Frampton could be in for a hard night it all depends on how much Molitor has got left. Frampton has looked excellent but has also looked average. It's either very clever match making which if he wins he can make a claim to be Britain's no.1 or it's a big mistake which he will be punished for. Fighting at home and being on form I see Frampton winning but a loss wouldn't surprise me.

If I can find live streams I plan to watch some of these fights coming from Glasgow, Scotland and Belfast, Northern Ireland, (the old sod ;) ) I love listening to the broadcasts from there and hearing the fans talk.
cheers

This is an exciting British lightweight world title match. It should be a good one. I'm pulling for Mitchell, but could see Burns sneaking out with a decision.
Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
I will be supporting Kevin Mitchell to win as I have always thought he was a quality boxer and puncher. This will be a good quality fight and probably the best domestic fight this year. Ricky Burns is not a big puncher but throws a lot of punches and I hope Kevin catches him and stops him.
Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
Really looking forward to this. Not overly keen on Mitchell as a character, but I like him as a fighter. If he's sorted himself out properly, which he seems to have done under the Tibbs Team then I think Mitchell takes it, maybe by late stoppage or close UD.
Anyone have any secrets regarding good streams for this or any future. Been struggling a little of late with my regular place cutting out quite a bit during the fight. PM me if you can help....
Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
Remember Burn's past his big test,! were Mitchell crashed and burned you do seem to write Burns off
in this fight, Mitchell has it all to prove in my eye's.
So with them facts, I go for Burns 12 rounds on points, it's a Sky-plus night Saturday I can't wait.:)
Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
Mitchell proved himself against an undefeated Murray and Johannson in my eyes.

I can see and watch Mitchell win Saturday. :)
Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
If Mitchell is to live up to the potential everyone believed he had in the beginning he should win this.
I wonder what the odds would be for this had he not lost to katsidis.
I know it's widely reported he had problems before that fight. To me it showed a lack of discipline and he should have pulled out, I don't believe it was all down to personal problems a lot of it was down to complacency too but it bit him in the arse and he's now got himself back on track.
I'm expecting to see something special from both men.

Re: Fights on Saturday - Sept. 22nd - Burns vs. Mitchell
I think Mitchell has all the questions to answer. Burns has fought and won at the much higher level, hes proved he is genuine world class. Right now Mitchell isnt.
Both boxers styls will mix very well for this fight but im expecting Burns to outwork Mitchell over 12 winning an 8-4 type of fight although i think the scoring will be very close.
ps: im from Burns home city (Glasgow) so of course im gonna pick our world champion to win although i do think he will win (reasons above). Im also covering the whole bill and will be collecting scores etc from press and fans from saddo and otehr forums
Will need to record the Sky bill from belfast, looking forward to Frampton vs Molitor , i think its a 50-50 ifght
