Is this amirs final swan song? Or is he talented enough and young enough to bounce back again?
Amir has speed and great boxing skill. If he would have gave prescott a rematch and beat him would that have gave amir a great confidence boost in a way that might have eliminated any talk of the glass jaw?
Would he have been a different fighter?
Can mr.hunter change amir and will he listen?
Swansong - He can't lose 3 on the bounce. He'll be nothing more than a gate-keeper.
If he loses this one, I predict he's going to down the route of Audley Harrison talking about how we should jump on the "A-Train" now (when he's 41) because Amir is going to be the World champ again!
It's a must win fight for Amir. He won't do any better unless he takes some responsibility though.

rumor is he's going with Ward's trainer, so nothing new is gonna happen, his excuse with Roach was that he was on the backburner to Pacquiao, well what's gonna be different now? Ward is the hotter fighter right now so he's not gonna be put behind Khan, Amir's glass chin isn't a state of mind it's just well his inability to take a good punch, he strikes me as a lazy ass and as someone who has an excuse for everything, he'll have some success then crash horribly and his new trainer will get the blame again

Everyone will agree he has to stay away from punchers but you have to admire his cajones. He needs to stop looking for the magic bullet by running from trainer to trainer and start working on his defense. I'd like to see him do well but he has to face the reality of his poor defense that makes him vulnerable to a puncher.Quote:

He dumped the Cuban trainer and got Roach and looked good. However his defense has been suspect until it was found out against Garcia, so he moves again and tries ti improve that. I see no problem there. Oscar dumped many trainers to improve himself.
Personally, I think Prescott was going to knock him out regardless of whether Roach was his trainer or somebody else. He was a young, cocky undefeated fighter who thought he couldn't lose. It was all too easy to blame the Cuban trainer (I'm sorry I don't know his name, I don't mean to be disrespectful).Quote:

Thing I'm still unsure about is whether Amir WANTS to improve. From the way he talks, I think he believes he has everything he needs but just needs the attention of a full time trainer. I could be wrong - we'll see how it pans out.
The way he fought Garcia has to be one of the dumbest approaches by a supposed top tier I've seen recent. If he comes out Hells bells again no matter the opponent, physically and mentally he runs the risk of taking yet another dirt nap. He has boxing ability but is too eager to try to be something he's not and sadly for him has the punch resistance of dry white toast.

Spicoli nailed it - Khan is always trying to be something he's not. He has the talent and attributes to fight like a top class boxer but wants to fight like Antonio Margarito without the chin. Never going to end well. The most disciplined I've seen him look was against Kotelnik when he won the world title.
Khan needs to fight in a disciplined manner where he uses his speed but not get reckless. He certainly makes fights exciting putting down Maidana with a body shot and cutting up Garcia for over 3 rounds, but had he taken his time he would have made easy work of these opponents. I think that is what he will do for this comeback.
