I hope he gets a decent opponent and wins, that'll put some of the doubters to bed, and I can finally take this question mark off my sig. I reckon Clevlar should get some decent opposition to prepare him for a spring fight against a real big name....finally.

BBC Sport - WBO champion Nathan Cleverly will face Ryan Coyne in America

There's not much on Coyne's record to judge him by...but with only a relatively low KO record Clev's managers must be thinking that it's a fairly safe bet for a win, and he will want to look impressive for the American audience.

Blimey, now there's a surprise, Cleverly is fighting someone nobody has ever heard of. He isn't even ranked in the WBO top 15 (;D). (expect that to magically change later)

I doubt the fight will even be part of the American broadcast. There are three other title fights on the bill.

It seems Frank Warren cant produce a decent opponent for Clev.

Wont be supprised if he jumps ship if his next fight is not against a big name.

I don't think they have that much faith in Cleverly. His level of opposition is that of a prospect not a "world" champion (and it would be fine if he was a prospect but he's not). They are trying to get as much mileage as possible out of the "world" champion tag until he's forced to fight a big name.

If he then pulls off the win they were geniuses. He if gets exposed then they gave him a good run.

I think Fenster's right here. They're definitely not taking any risks with him and I don't think the public are buying it either. I reckon the Uzelkov fight is off because tickets weren't selling and this "US exposure" thing is just a handy excuse to get out of a fight that nobody wanted to watch.

The problem for Cleverly is there are a bunch of east europeans like Uzwhatever who nobody wants to see and then there's Cloud/Dawson, both of whom are a hell of a step up from anybody else he's fought. Or maybe Warren tries to get Hopkins over to Cardiff but would even that fight sell?

Good to see him fighting overseas. Just ashame the guy in the other corner is a bum.

He reminds of Joe the way his career is going. Hope he doesnt wait 10 years before he steps up. I reckon he has more than weve seen.
