Devon Alexander: Never Seen Brook Fight, Who is He? - Boxing News
Devon doesnt know who Brook is apparentley and see's him as a tune up fight, would Devon defend the belt in the UK? I think it would be a good fight, but I could see Devon outboxing Brook.

Yeah ok Devon you don't know who your mandatory is. Since you are entitled as new champ to fight an optional why not fight him. Just call it a tune up lol.
I don't think Kell can beat Devon but I'd love to see this fight. No way would he go to England though. Kell has a really bad habit that I think an equally as fast an accurate puncher would cash in on and its really fundamental. He steps straight back all the time with his lead hand down.
I have no idea what Brook is about. But if he fights Devon the smother next I now love me some Brooks! Doubt this actually happens though.
Alexander is the definition of get through today and worry about looking great tomorrow.

I love some Bailey but his bomber was stuck in the hanger mostly. Devon looked a guy content to bark and snuggle it out largely, to the point of 3 warnings and a point deduct, even after his left found its radar. This was for the IBF Welterweight Title, but Alexander thought it was Dancing With the Stars, jumping in and out, grabing and holding, and lets not forget spinning, spinning and spinning his partner.
Bailey was just as bad, following Alexander around the ring like a robot trying to unload his right with an occasional jab. It was obvious Bailey had no plan except his right hand. Without a doubt the worst title fight I've seen. If there is anyway to avoid it, I'll never watch Alexander again, my blood pressure must have gone up 15 or 20 points. This fight was DOA. I'm hoping whoever fights Alexander wins.
I don't see Alexander wanting to fight Brook ANYWHERE outside of St Louis, but you know what, this fight would sell thousands more tickets in Sheffield than it would in any state in the U.S. Do fight fans outside of the St Louis even pay to watch Alexander??
I feel like Alexander is just keeping the title warm for someone better. He (IMO) got beat by Lucas Mattysse and squeeked by Kotelnik. And the way he secretly packed in tucked in to that shell against Bradley, oh no. If I was forced to give a prediction, I'd take Brook by close decision based on more activity, so if the fight is in St Louis, Alexander by UD.

Hopefully not. The fight won't happen till next year, if it does happen, and that's a whole bunch of time wasted to make a far superior fight - Khan-Brook.
What would be perfect is - Alexander dumps the belt, the IBF award it to Brook, because he's already beat everyone in the top 4 or 5, and then the Khan fight can be made for a "world" title, which keeps all the fat cats and dopes that need a "world" title to sell/buy the fight happy.
Who the hell is going to want to promote a Devon Alexander fight after his last few performances? Who is his promoter anyway, Golden Boy?
Even if he did give the belt up and Brook got it I can't see Khan fighting him anytime soon. Brook would be an MEN arena/normal Sky fight, about or a bit more than the money he was getting in America. The fight Khan really wants is Hatton. He'll make more fighting Hatton than he will for his next five fights and those fights would include a Garcia rematch, Matthysse and hard welterweight fights. Khan will be praying Hatton beats Senchenko and Malinaggi and then they can do a Sky PPV spectacular in front of 50 000 people.
It is Golden Boy. I can't see either of the main networks forking out to feature him in a main event so if Hearn comes up with a big payday for him he might come and fight in England.
Devon wont be dropping the belt. Khan and Brook don't really need a belt to make it work anyway.They would sell out Wembley and do a shit load on ppv. It's a natural held in what I believe to be the best by far domestic scene on earth. Alexander has 90 or 110 days to get an optional and fight him by next summer. Then Brook will be able to execute his mandatory challenge or I suppose Devon could kill two birds with one stone and make Brook his optional. Brook would have to fly to St.Louis
Kell Brook would beat Devon no doubt. Kell is the real deal, Devon will not be able to take on the physical strength of Kell or the punch power. I see Alexander running away scared ab it like he did with Bradley and lose a decision.
