The ref didn't really do that much wrong. She was constantly throwing punches back until getting caught in the ropes at the very end. He should have stopped it then mind.
The slow motion just made it look much worse than it was. Dozens of fights every week would look shocking in slow motion

I don't think that a lot of these girls are being taught properly, which is a complaint I have about many male boxers as well, but I think it is especially prevalent when it comes to women fighters. About the time I first came aboard here, at the gym where I was working there was a woman boxer that held some type of a world belt, and her claim to fame was that she could take a pounding and keep on. Her 'trainer' was abysmal, had no right even being allowed in a boxing gym. He'd show her things, be unable to explain them, then scream at her, and 90% of the time what he was 'teaching' her wasn't as it should be. It got to the point that, when I was in the ring with other boxers, I'd walk them through the moves he was trying to teach her at ringside, and he got really mad when he figured out she was watching the ring instead of him.
I think that the shortcomings with the training of women boxers are compounded by the nature of women in general. They have more heart than most men, can stand things that would kill us, and, deep down, are killers.
Put Ian John lewis in there and he would have stepped in the 1st time of of them feinted with a jab
