Re: Sparring help needed ?
Like Zab Judah - pull backwards and then left uppercut, but , indeed, it is very hard to master
I would try to find answers from Judah, Whitaker fights if I were you

Also what should be my main defenses against orthodox fighters? I slip to my right alot, I dont slip to my left much at all. I do the the front block alot not so much the side-blocks hooks dont come as often as straights, I use the step/lean back, I always try to step away from the power side so to my right, I pivot to my right never left, I duck, I dont ever parry their straight right hand because it feels way too risky is it better to catch it instead? What should be my defensive main stays as a southpaw?
Last question how to I use the right lead hook and avoid their left lead hook?
Many thanks guys!
If he is slipping outside your jab, you can't really counter him because he is outside your punching range. If a guy is giving indications that that is what he is looking to do, then maybe you would want to avoid stepping in with your jab, as you'd be stepping into his right hand.
You mention that you always go to your right, and never to your left. Well, if he is slipping outside your right, then you are just lining yourself up for his right hand. And if you constantly move right, you'll have a hard time landing your right hook because you are moving it around behind his left shoulder. If you go to your left, he will throw his right (which is what you want him to do) and you'll be in a spot to counter it with your right hook.
