12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
What I mean is fights where the eventual loser was closing the gap and just ran out of time after 12 rounds. Had it have been an old 15 round fight they may have won a close decision or maybe even scored a dramatic late KO. Or where the loser was a few rounds behind but was more than holding his own and could have swung things around.
Don't have a lot of fights in mind myself but was interested to see what other members might come up.
For me I'll throw in an Pac vs JMM fight especially the draw, I think if Marquez could achieve a draw after that torrid first round he could have won it with another 3 rounds to play with.
Also Froch vs Kessler and believe it or not against Ward. Some of the score cards were close for both fights and Froch is powerful and tireless to the end. It has been discussed how had he started sooner against Ward the fight would have been closer and Ward was slowing down. Who knows what could have happened with another 3 rounds. Ward is an excellent fighter and I don't mean to disrespect his win with this but it's possible. Froch gets treated fairly in the US too so the result may have gone his way.
Against Kessler the way they had gone the previous 12 rounds they would have been fighting on pure instinct and a KO in eithers favour would not have been shocking.
I think the Reid v Calzaghe fight would have been interesting after another 3 rounds, Reid was well motivated that night.
Holyfield v Lewis 1 would surely have gone to Lewis after another 3 rounds but don't think I'll discuss that too much as it was such a shitty decision with plenty of controversy maybe Holyfield would have won a UD lol.
Basically any close 12 round fight could have been different after another 3 rounds but thought it would be a good topic.
Maidana v Khan
How about Mayweather v DLH, Castillo or even Cotto.

Tito v Oscar might have been interesting.

Duran vs Hagler was arguably level after 12
Hearns was beating Leonard (I) after 12
I've got the thread back to front - but you see my point :-)
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Really cool question.
Hagler would have beaten Leonard. Rays legs were gone.
Shit Chavez may have stopped Martinez
Take your pick in the Manny/Marquez series
Morales/Manny 1 maybe
Its also interesting to view it the other way.
For example Hearns would have won going away against Leonard in the first fight if it were 12.
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Hopkins Taylor 1 would have been a ko for Hopkins no doubt
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Librado Andrade would have had Bute out of there. Although saying that Marlon Wright probably would have just given Bute another 30 count to recover.

Dawson-Johnson I.
Some people say Johnson was robbed, but the truth is he wasn't, because Dawson won the early and middle rounds. However, in the late rounds, Johnson was dominating, Dawson was taking a beating and was on the verge of being stopped.
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Couple of very recent ones...
Kell Brook/Carson Jones
Martinez/Chavez Jr
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
i thought froch beat kessler, i also thought he won 3 out of the last 4 but interesting for this thread i thought kessler won the 12th, another 3 rounds could have gone either way
i remember ward looking shakey against bika in round 12 and wasnt there another fight where he really struggled in the last round?
And obviously Bruno would have KOed Mccall if their fight had have gone on a couple more :)
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Leonard would have lost to Hagler.
Chavez finishes off Taylor.
Hopkins beat Taylor twice.

Bute must have felt like the luckiest guy in the world hearing that final bell!
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Some good fights mentioned.
Non that I can disagree with.
Kell Brook certainly made things hard for himself against Jones.
Re: 12 round fight scores that might have gone the other way after 15 rounds
Shane/Cotto would have been interesting
Mercer/Lewis Ditto

Pretty sure they would still find a way to call Whitaker vs Chavez a 'draw'. Foreman remains lineal champ vs Briggs. Ricardo Lopez and Alvarez are brought up on attempted homicide charges in 1st meet ;D Harold Brazier KO's Roger Mayweather and gets the championship he should have.

I was at Shane/Cotto. Cotto never looked in trouble to me. He boxed quite well off the back foot. I don't think that result would have been any different.
