How to get into coaching?

Hello,

at the moment, I simply live in a place where there is no gym within 30-40 km / miles. But this is temporary.

One day, I want to be become a coach. However, I do not have much experience / achievements in boxing. Of course, I did and do train, study stuff on my own...

How would you advise me to switch to training?

Well, you may say, I should not do it because I do not have much experience / achievements. However, I know examples of coaches in boxing / soccer who were also not great sportsmen themselves: Angelo Dundee, Arrigo Sacchi, Jose Mourinho and some more.

Without a pedigree, you must fall in line with everything else in life. Start at the bottom, pay your dues and listen and learn from as many veterans as possible. Start off as a volunteer coach at an amateur Gym and work your way up. Nothing is impossible. (Spoken from experience)

While cnote111's answer is the correct one, it also depends how you are asking the question. For eg, in some countries (most countries) all it takes to be a registered coach is a one day seminar then a test. Then begins a series of levels where you move up in ranking, and knowledge over the years. That for amateurs. Oddly, for professional coaches, it is usually a lot less.

But the correct answer is yes, lots of time in the gym, getting to know it from top to bottom, and hopefully under someone who has a clue. And your own thirst for knowledge. and common sense.
