I know this is a bit off topic but watching Degale now got me thinking.
I had Degale by one or two. Can't remember now.
But I just remember Adam Booth being declared a tactical genius due to Haye-Valuev and Degale-Groves when in fact I felt he made both his fighters box totally the wrong tactics in both fights but luckily got both decisions. Haye threw less than Holyfield - That's shit! And Groves? He needed to war with Degale? I know they both won but not in my mind.
What? Haye out landed Valuev. It was a shit fight but there was nothing lucky about it?
Honestly mate I felt Valuev pressed it. It was one of those that if it was at the O2 or something I would have had no doubt about who was getting it but being in Germany I really expected Valuev to get it. I was in a room of boxing nerds and nobody felt Haye was about to be announced the winner.Quote:

I was at the Groves v Degale fight and it was very tense, the whole place erupted when Groves won. I thought Groves nicked it at the time but I have watched it a couple times since and to be honest an argument can made for a win either way or a draw it really was that close.
I am only just starting to warm to Degale after he was a prick in the build up but I'm now starting to feel sorry for him, I think he knows he lost a lot of potential fans and he let his dislike for Groves take over but he does actually seem like a nice guy.
Not sure he is developin as he should be though, I'm not a boxing expert but he doesn't appear to be winning his last few fights particularly easily. At least he knows his fitness is good though. Hope to see him stay busy and iron out his flaws next year.
I scored the fight for Groves and it was clear at the time.
I'm still not all that impressed with the guy in the Zuniga fight.
115-113 Groves for me. The fight seems to have defeated James mentally since. If they fought again I think Groves would batter him.

It was a very close fight, Degale by a round,! Groves is a nice guy , on the other hand Degale is a nob.;D
I don't remember exactly but I scored it for Groves and by a much bigger margin than everyone else.
I didn't have it near as close as everyone else 116-110 or something like that.
I hate James Degale and I hate his style, and his annoying face and attitude so it's easy for me to score against him.
I won a good bit of money on this fight.
It would be childish to dislike someone just because he called someone else a Ginger and said his breath stank, but I thought the one who looked like a horse leaning on the paddock rope, lost by a couple of points.

I scored both a DRAW when watching live.
On repeat watch judging things more carefully, I still had Groves/DeGale a draw but I thought Haye won 8-4.
Ok, seems like I might have fucked up with Haye-Valuev. I only watched it the once though at the time (enough for anyone!).
Still can't score it for Groves though.
i had groves by a point but thought he won rounds more clearly and the rounds degale won were close which made groves a deserved winner for me (not that the closeness of rounds matter)
i was worried at the end of haye valuev, with it being in germany i didnt think that haye had won decisively enough to get the verdict
