I saw him vs Anderson and he was flat footed and not stiff but not the most mobile.
I've seen all his fights since and slowly, fight by fight he's starting to move, throw punches and avoid them like Haye and last night it was like watching a small, white, ginger version of David Haye!
I actually like Haye's style so no complaints here.
Anyone else see the change/similarities?
Yes iv seen it for a while and no its not a good thing.
Haye has absolutely no head movement, he relies on moving sideways around the ring. George was the same and as slow as Johnson was he was still getting caught and the legs went a few times, just like David;D
You might get away with no head movement in the heavies but not in the super middles where they are quicker and put punches together better.

Degale will beat groves in a rematch and im not a fan of degale.
I disagree, I think DeGale's gotten worse and Groves better since the fight between them.

The similarities are there for sure. I'm not sure if Groves has the equivalent speed at his weight that Haye does though.
I think in every era of boxing, a dominant boxing style becomes the most popular, in these 10-15 years the ambush style (quoting Dwyer here and his liberal usage of 'literally' :D) seems to be the most popular but as Manny's fading out to retirement or just past prime I think the old school shoulder roll with high upper body movement and minimal lateral control will be prominent.
Nothing particularly wrong with either style but the one inherit problem you'll run into is that since it is shown so many times its much easier to figure it out and counter it, I think one of Floyd's better tactics was perhaps no one really fought like him and therefore a general blueprint couldn't be well formulated.
I actually think De Gale as improved but think he will always struggle with De Gale who just has the mental edge over him.
