Donaire vs Mares should be a good fight. Plus could be a stepping stone for future TP vs GBP fights.

Schaefer is developing a pathological hatred of Arum. This is a my dick's bigger than yours offer to Arum, it values the fight at far more than its probable commercial value. Maybe Arum now offers more and the fighters end up getting the benefit of feuding promoters trying to show they're the top dog. It's going to be interesting to see Arum's reply.

If the offer is real, why did Schaefer put in the media? Makes it less likely to actually happen. Although in my opinion it is unlikely, if he is really offering $3 million for the fight, and Bob can't match it, he should let Donaire fight Mares under a Golden Boy banner.

I hate it when managers and promoters get in the way of big fights that should happen for the good of boxing. It should not be about promoters personalities, egos, bitching and characters with one another.

No reply from Arum yet. Donaire has apparently sent a Twitter message to Mares and Golden Boy asking for a written offer to be faxed to his manager. He's obviously gagging for the payday and if they do fax an offer/contract he can put pressure on Arum to agree or better it. So let's see if an offer appears and then what Arum's response isd.
If I was Arum I would tell the media that I want Oscar to put the three million in a suitcase and bring it and the contract over to the Top Rank offices in a limo for him to sign (like they did when they got Manny to sign a contract) just to see what Schaefer's reaction would be. Arum has got under his skin and should take every opportunity to wind him up that he can get.

If Arum wasn't happy with the offer or the conditions of the contract he should have counter offered or tried to negotiate the terms
He could have come back with the exact same contract for Golden Boy & a 3.1 mil offer!
