Futures bright, futures orange..?
Canelo has alot of backing in fans and golden boy. If he gets through trout and beats him well then he has a great future.
Canelo likes to do a bit of shoulder roll defense and seems to have good power in his build up of combinations.
He has youth on his side and even after being rattled in the cotto fight he found his feet to make the stoppage.
What are your thoughts on canelo and his competition after the trout fight if successful..if the mayweather fight cant be made i would love to see a martinez vs canelo early 2014.
Re: Futures bright, futures orange..?
I watched his fight with Mosely and have to say I was bored to tears. I didnt find him exciting and he seemed to be content to let Mosely coast through with neither taking any risks. It was dull.
Iv seen bits of his other fights, like Rhodes taking him in to the 12th, the Hatton fight Lopez. Lopez he did what he was supposed to do with a smaller fighter but that Mosely performance... He should have tried for the stoppage but didnt and didnt look like he wanted to. Hes only looked good against opponents hes supposed to, hes not looked special to me.

"He has youth on his side and even after being rattled in the cotto fight he found his feet to make the stoppage." Who are you talking about here?
My concern for Alvarez is that having so many fights at such a young age can have an affect on him in the future. Could get battle worn at a younger then expected age when really he should be in his peak.

Team Martinez: We'll Fight Canelo, Only at 160 and on HBO - Boxing News
Martinez would fight Canelo at 160, I dont think Canelo would move up yet though. He can still easily make 154 and I dont think he would risk fighting such a good fighter in Martinez yet IMO.

Trout's gonna rain on the parade:eek:
Re: Futures bright, futures orange..?
Future is GGG vs Canelo, after Golovkin goes to war with Sergio.

Thats what I was thinking, I dont even know why theres talk of Canelos next fight, Trout is such a big and risky fight for him. I wouldnt be surprised if Trout wins, Its a 50-50 fight that could go either way.
Re: Futures bright, futures orange..?
I get the impression that Canelo and his people are not taking Trout seriously. Its the smell of a guy with his head in the clouds and ahead of himself. It would be something if he ran into his own jinx and watched his next big fight go up in smoke because of an upset of the favorite, this time himself!
Re: Futures bright, futures orange..?
Trout should stay at 154lb and clean up the division and make the fight with Floyd. Forget Sergio and GGG they are the real big boys.

Still cant believe they made this fight.
Trout will be on his very best for this one.
It is an acid test, GBP need to know if they have a quality fighter or not, especially if they want him to challenge and take over Floyd. Saul is a quality fighter and Trout will bring the best out of him.
