No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
Cant wait for this fight I think its going to be a war with my man Bellew getting a late KO but Chilemba is no push over. Bellew deserves the victory I thought he was hard done by on the judges score cards against Cleverly, I had Bellew up by one round.
Had the pleasure of meeting him recently too and he is a genuine top guy.
Also Derry Mathews vs Crolla rematch on the undercard, the first fight was a war but im picking Crolla to get revenge.
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
i dont know anything about the other fella
im looking forward to matthews crolla 2 as well, i have a sneaky feeling its gonna be the same outcome

Chilemba is tough, he went 10 with Miranda and won UD. Bellew stopped Miranda and to be fair he should have stopped him 4 rounds earlier than he did.
Nothing else I know about him.

I don't know much about Chilemba but his form stacks up pretty well with Bellew's. He doesn't look a puncher though. So with Tony seeming to have left his power happy days well behind, I expect a cagey fight.
I thought Matthews was "lucky" against Crolla last time, in that he looked more like fading (which his history shows). I think Crolla will stop him this time. (waiting for bookies to price up the second half)

For those that don't know - the whole undercard is live from 7pm on Sky's red button

i didnt know that, how long have they been doing that?
By the way, i think crolla is suspect to power, i think his style takes punches even though he is compact enough to soak them for a while, i think matthews has enough power to make his punches tell sooner rather than later
i might be reading too much into the first fight tho

The red button is new starting this week (it's not actually the "whole" undercard but from 7 to 11)
@Silkeyjoe - I would have backed an anytime KO at 11/4 too. Shame.
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
Bellow looks a beat at the moment and I would love him to take on Chad Dawson if he wins this. I think he lost against Cleverly but it was a tough close fight.
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
Chilemba also fought to a hotly contested draw with Oosthuizen in South Africa at 168 & had signed to fight Erdei before the latter pulled out with an injury, he seems willing to fight top guys
I see Bellew as a slight favourite but would not be surprised by a Chilemba victory
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
Chilemba on a points win. May get the short end of the stick in a close one though.
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
Watching Bellew against Miranda, he is not going to beat the top boys. Hes already lost to Cleverly.
He seems to think he is a massive puncher but Miranda just quit. Compare that to Bute, Abraham and Pavlik ruining Miranda and then you can put Bellews "power" in to perspective. Also, Miranda shook him a few times and put him in to a shell.
I think Bellew is well aware of his own chin and against any punchers he not going to be brave enough to go balls out to win.
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
I expect Bellew to win, inside the distance and I expect Corlla to win the rematch, looks a good
card can't wait.;D
Re: No thread for the Bellew vs Chilemba fight saturday night?
This it the MOST COMPETITIVE fight today. Bar none. Just to be clear, Chilemba is by FAR & AWAY better than any boxer his rival, Cleverly, has ever faced. Regardless of the outcome, the Fancy should respect Bellew's game. Scousers are in for a good turn up tonight.
