Major, killer tornado in Oklahoma
At least 51 killed, including 20 children, as tornado tears through Oklahoma, leaving miles of debris - U.S. News=
This is just plain horrifying and sad. More proof of why Oklahoma is absolutely, positively the last place in the U.S. that I'd live. Other states get tornadoes... but Oklahoma normally gets the monster, scary ones.
You never hear of any other place on Earth suffering from these killer tornadoes. Hurricanes... yeah. Earthquakes can happen anywhere. But you think of monster tornadoes and you think of Oklahoma.

Sad... Sad news, stuff like this always reminds me just how vulnerable we are stuck living on this rock.
thoughts are with the family's of the killed children :(
Re: Major, killer tornado in Oklahoma
this happened on Obama's watch!!! That's all I'm saying here.
Re: Major, killer tornado in Oklahoma
It sucks, but there's not much that could have been done to save those people. When you have an F4-F5 tornado you either better have a bomb shelter or just pray the storm misses you.
I'm glad Missy's sense of humor has not been affected by 91 people being killed by a tornado.

Or maybe we just miss your humour when you're progun when kids got murdered in Sandy Hook and you blamed Obama.

#1 I never made light of the situation.
#2 If the school was protected by someone that had a gun then that shooting wouldn't have happened. Also bringing up a man made tragedy to defend your dumb remarks about a natural disaster is fucking stupid

Makes you wonder what's worse.... living in an earthquake-prone area like anywhere on the San Andreas fault.... living in places where hurricanes always seem to hit.... or living in Tornado Alley, as I believe it's called. There's also areas like Indonesia, which have lately been ravaged by quakes and tsunamis.
But all things considered, I think living in Tornado Alley has to be worse. Killer tornadoes are much more frequent than killer earthquakes, I'd have to believe. Hurricanes give you days and even weeks of advance notice. But tornadoes pop up out of nowhere. Even in the middle of the night, when reaction time is a lot slower.
I can't imagine what it must be like living in a place like Oklahoma.

I don't think you understand how big "Tornado Alley" actually is....

But hey, you be as dumb as you like, I won't stop you
Re: Major, killer tornado in Oklahoma
Well.... to be fair, Lyle, Tornado Alley is actually a bit smaller than might be surmised from your map. True, they can strike most anywhere... but it's a generally accepted fact that if you live in states like Oklahoma or Kansas, chances are you're going to be affected by a major tornado at least once, maybe several times in your lifetime.

Yeah tough times. Cant work out why humans get so attached to an area but we do. You'd dig a big hole with a lot more than a bolt on a timber hatch to hold the lid down if you chose to stay there and rebuild. Weather people think with the changes in climate and sea temp and flow reversals all over the planet that they are going to get worse as time goes on.
Re: Major, killer tornado in Oklahoma
Some mad people chase Tornado's, why on earth they must be a fearsome sight in deed, hell
what chance would you have in your house, very little I should imagine.:(

Well I am shocked, hey everyone @TitoFan disagreed with me! Hey, I've never seen this before....hey you guys, did you see TitoFan disagree with me? How out of character is that?
:shakehead:
I'm glad someone from Puerto FUCKING Rico can act like they learned something about American geography. I know all too well the sanctimonious nature of the British, ah but the Puerto Rican is up and in the chase now...good for you, don't settle for second best.
The map I posted shows where tornadoes most often happen (red), sometimes happen (orange), and can happen (yellow)....but you go right ahead and disagree with me........AGAIN....I mean, I never tire of your constant "Well Lyle, ACTUALLY (said with eyes smugly closed)....." .....don't you have anyone else to bother you little parasite?
