Paul McCloskey is saying it is a joke if Khan gets a Mayweather fight

I think off the back of his losses and his mediocre performance against Diaz, I think Khan has a little more to prove before fighting Mayweather. If he fights and beats Alexander, I could live with it because his speed could cause Mayweather issue and Khan always brings an exciting fight.

I take issue with McCloskey bitching about it though. Surely he should be concentrating on his own career after being stopped by a shot Demarcus Corley and being outboxed by Khan while not throwing punches and assuming he was winning the rounds?

You take issue because he posted on twitter what non-boxers are thinking and saying?

McCloskey is obviously bitter and a bit rubbish too.

I agree with McCloskey, Khan should be way, way down on Floyd's list. That's why Floyd will probably pick him, he needs these fast and easy meals.

Khan is the second most qualified fighter for Floyd to face after pac. He's got a significant fan base and its peimarily outside of America, so it will attract a massive audience and keep his PPV numbers high. Khan is a KO waiting to happen so Floyd will look great beating him. What more could mayweather want in an opponent? What more could anyone want for themselves at 36?

Boxing is a business. Smart fighters want to make money and not get hurt. Floyd is a smart fighter... He's made millions and will continue to do so until he retires with his perfect record intact and his brain working at 99%. Why would he do it any differently?
Not to mention Khan makes a bunch of money. The networks make a bunch of money. The fans get to see Khan KO'd in spectacular fashion again. Everybody wins! Unless your hate for Floyd is so strong that you'll only be satisfied when he gets KO'd by someone 25 lbs heavier than him... And he's not gonna let that happen.

The problem really is... that there's not an abundant supply of good, well-known 147-pounders right now from which to choose from. So when you start going down the slim pickings... Khan's name shows up. I think it's wrong to consider Khan because of his huge British fan base. Yes... there's a lot of money to be made, but what about us fans? If there was more to pick from, we wouldn't be having to talk about hypothetical fights with Canelo (who Floyd won't fight at 154), Sergio (who's way too big for Floyd anyway), or Khan.

Before Khan, I'd consider the winner of Matthysse-Garcia, if that fight gets made.

Agreed and I don't blame Paul for being pissed off. His fight with Khan was stopped on a paper cut. Oh it may have got a stitch or 3 but I've had worse hang nails then that.

Yea was a shocking stoppage. Khan was winning every round but was signs of McCliskey getting back into it and in all fairness Khan was landing much. Paul could have gone for it late and Khans chin being shot you never know. Extremely unlikely but have to feel for a guy who loses the 0 on a bullshit stoppage

so if a better fighter than McCloskey came out and said he thinks Khan vs Mayweather is a joke that would be acceptable?

Yes, particularly someone who has not lost every round to Khan and then lost again. We all know Khan is not worthy yet but he will be if he clears the light welterweight by beating Garcia/Mattysse winner and then beats an Alexander to set up a fight with wanker Floyd.
