Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
I find it amazing how many young, pro boxers are not schooled properly with the basics. One would assume that a pro boxer would do everything correctly but it's far from the truth.
It's a simple jab but look awkward Wilder looks with his jab/footwork compared to the master Lewis..

Wilder has the ability to be great, if he can get his jan good the he'll be a force.
He could be controlled instead of being the wilder (no pun intended) fighter he is now.

About time Lennox get back in there and train the new guys on the way up.... Evander needs to retire as well and go on the training and support tour.

Iv already seen this. Lennox is showing him how he threw his jab but thats not how youd teach a novice. Holding his hands like that got him knocked out;D
If you have your left arm half way extended its begging to have the over hand right thrown over it. Lennox got away with that because of his size and power. Most opponents didnt press the issue hard enough with him because the power intimidated them.
Re: Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
Now i'm sure you (@ross) could teach Lennox a thing or two, but the two times he got knocked out - 1. He was exchanging right hands, 2. He was against the ropes attempting to protect his chin with his shoulder
Re: Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
That was fucking embarrassing. Don't matter who you are, if you're throwing jabs in a hotel/motel car park at night you look like a pisshead. Fact.
Re: Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
There must have been people peeking through the windows waiting for it to kick off.
Probably some old girl had the cops on the phone already...
"Hold up, the dude with dreadlocks is backing off, yep he's shit himself, don't worry"
Re: Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
I had a little chuckle when Lennox gets a bit pissy and says "no! Im jabbing!";D

The Rahman right hand was straight through his guard. I embellished but the point remains you don't try and "improve" a jab by getting someone to start it with an almost outstretched arm so they are walking around the ring with the defence to the over hand right.;)
Re: Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
Wilder has a good jab he has been sparring with top fighters so he should know the basics by now. He is exciting but hope he can develop his technical skills because he cannot keep knocking everyone out.
Re: Lennox Lewis show Deontay Wilder the proper way to throw a jab
Just as Wilder said...........the cheating jab? Yes its against an opponent who you feel will not counter over or under that "cheat position"! Second of all Wilders trainer knows something about a good jab, Mark Breland had an excellant jab and I'm sure its on Wilders plate everytime in the gym!
I watched this kid workout and a few fights (videos) and he is unusually "stiff" in his appearances!
He's been boxing for some time now but doesn't look loose or comfortable in the ring! I can see his agression and a desire but that relaxed controlled look is missing! Very interesting project to me. Ray

Seriously this is beyond fucking cringeworthy.
I literally LOVE Lennox and have nothing against Wilder but, no matter how great you are, when you make yourself look like a plum you need to be called on it

I disagree that is quality advice and support that needs to be recorded for nostalgic purpose.

Forget the fucking advice, they still looked like a pair of cunts, if I was staying there I'd have been telling them to get the fuck away from my car, or they'll both learn what left hooks and straight right hands are. Fact.
