Mike Tyson to Promote his first boxing card on ESPN FNF

Mike Tyson strikes deal to promote Aug. 23 'Friday Night Fights' card - ESPN

The card takes place on August 23rd and will be televised live by ESPN as part of Friday Night Fights. Argenis Mendez vs. Arash Usmanee for the IBF 130lb title will be the main event, with Claudio Marrero vs. Jesus Andres Cuellar for the Interim WBA 126lb title as the co-feature. How do you think 'Iron' Mike will do as a Promoter and do you think this is just a one off event or do you think he'll go into it full-time? Not a bad couple of fights for your first card though.

On a side note, I thought the WBA were going to attempt to elimanate interim titles? If this is the case, what is the point of having guys fight for a vacant interim title? The WBA are so full of shit and don't employ common sense. Idiots.

This is news to me. I'm very surprised by this.

As I see it (as in fact most see it), boxing hasn't been too kind to Mike so I would of thought he'd be the last candidate to venture on in to the business quarters of the sport.

First hearing of it?! Didn't they just extend FNFs 'season' by one week...is this the finale btw? Its good to see the affiliation again and a solid card! Was hoping Usmanee would get Barthelemy again right off but good to see him get the shot.

Should be interesting to see if they have Teddy and Tyson chatting it up or if they will separate them with a line of security guards a la the Tyson-Lewis fight ;D

To be fair tyson was 14 and he only grabbed her ass. Get over it Atlas, I did worse at 14.
