What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
Many Olympic Gold medalists have done well in the pros (Muhammed Ali, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko) although a few have not (Audrey Harrison).
I wonder how Anthony Joshua will do?

Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
Until I see how granite his ears are I'm not sure.
Also I watched him lose at the Olympics but it was one of the best robberies i've ever seen (kerching!!!)
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
He's definitely somebody to look out for. If he has punch resistance, i dont see why he couldnt succeed in this poor HW division.
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
Joshua reminds me of Frank Bruno.
In the unpaid ranks, he appeared very cumbersome at times but he is a big powerful dude. As long as his chin holds up...I reckon he'll make it to at least EBU level.
Great addition to the heavyweight ranks
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
In the Olympics, He was under tremendous Pressure, make no mistake. Already had beat the Italian in the Worlds the year before. Make no mistake this Kid can Fight. I rate Him higher than Lewis, at this stage of there careers. I remember years ago when people on here were Biging Audley up,I told everyone who would listen that He couldnt Fight while He had a Hole in His Arse .;D

What a lot of bullshit.
Joshua beat him in the final the same way he beat him the year before, let Camerellie work a lot in the first and then up the work rate in the following round.
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
I make no judgement yet. Difficult to judge an pro career from the amateurs. I have low expectations because of every other gold medalist we've ever produced. From what I've seen I would agree with the Bruno comparison.

Maybe Fenster means against the Cuban?
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
Remember that this guy never put on a pair of gloves until he was 18, but won the gold at age 22. That's pretty spectacular but he is still as raw as they come.

Yep nobody thinks he beat the Cuban.
That's irrelevant now though, Joshua is clearly a good talent, due to his lack of experience we can expect real slowly slowly with him though.
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
He is a very good athlete and physical specimen ..... big, strong and coordinated, and he can hit.
On the downside, he is still a novice - only started boxing 4 years ago and has not got much real experience (compared to the likes of Ali, Lewis and even Audley.
He's got a massive upper body but very slim legs, hips and waist ...... I wonder whether he will be able to leverage big punches properly over the longer fights, and I obviously haven't seen enough of him to judge his punch resistance well.
Good luck to him - I hope he takes the time and pain to learn the trade properly and not get rushed too fast to make a quick few quid
Re: What are your thoughts on Anthony Joshua?
Let's see what happens when he gets hit on the chin by somebody who can punch. We may be waiting a long time for that to happen.
