It was not Lennox Lewis's fault- David Price.
Hi guys,
People were blaming Lennox Lewis for the David Price debacle vs. Tony Thompson, because Lewis decided to work with Price in preparation for the fight. I disagree with that STRONGLY! If anything, Lewis worked harder with him so Price could have stood in the fight longer than he did the first time.
Do you know who I think was to blame for Price vs. Thompson 1 and 2? The greedy promoters who were too focused on star studded box-office numbers than they were about the fighter.
David Price CLEARLY had NO BUSINESS in the ring with Thompson when he was in there. NO BUSINESS!
He lost the fight before he even got into the ring. Thompson- for his age, but it doesn't matter- is a legit contender. And, I feel, if it wasn't for the Klits- because apparently Wlad has his number- would be an alphabet champion today.
We keep forgetting how dominant the Klits are, and think that everyone who they fought were chumps because they make it look so easy.
Price can come back... but he has to start all over again.
But, CLEARLY, this was NOT Lennox Lewis's fault. In fact, Lennox did what he was supposed to be doing anyways- and that was helping the next generation of British boxers to take the next step to greatness.
Lewis was doing and did his part. Price just was misled by his handlers and paid the "price", pun intended!!!
Re: It was not Lennox Lewis's fault- David Price.
Lennox clearly deserves all the blame. I think it was Mike McCallums fault that Liakovich lost to Wilder as well. Also never understood why Archie Moore couldn't make big George a better counter puncher, like what gives.
Re: It was not Lennox Lewis's fault- David Price.
Of course it was Lewis fault.
Re: It was not Lennox Lewis's fault- David Price.
smh... I'm certain you guys heard the talk after the Price KO loss to Thompson for the second time. They made it seem as if Lewis was at fault for it... I was like "WTF??"
The matchmakers destroyed Price. He may never recover and be profitable again. It's their fault!!
So what if he was moving a little slow- it was for a reason. Everyone develops at a different pace.

The only person who can hold responsibility is the man in the ring.
