Deontay Wilder RULES

I don't care if he's technically flawed. Being technically amazing is a small man's game.

Knocking dudes into convulsions is what a HW should do.

I was with friends last night who don't follow and couldn't care less about boxing. I said "guys lets watch this one, this dude is 28-0 with 28 knockouts. I gaurentee it'll be exciting."

I said the same shit to my buddies when Wlad fought Haye and they made me look stupid.

Deontay is the kind of guy that, for better or for worse, will make people interested in HW boxing again.

So instead of nitpicking his flaws, saying his competition thus far has sucked (it has, I know), I'm going to be excited that THERE'S ACTUALLY A HW PROSPECT WHO KNOCKS PEOPLE THE FUCK OUT INSTEAD OF STINKING OUT THE JOINT.

Haye vs wilder is the one fight i want.
Winner fights wlad.

At last Wilder is being taken seriously. He still needs to be tested coming into the later rounds.

I really wanna see him vs. Chris Arreola. Arreola will put the heat on him big time and smash him on the inside if he's not careful.

Wilder needs rounds but that KO was SICK! But it's about as meaningful as Cooney-Norton

It took a while, but Deontay finally fought someone decent. (And blew him away in the process). I still think 29-0 is a bit bloated of a record at the end of it all (he even makes Chavez Jr's list of early opponents look good in comparison)..... but I'm glad he's finally stepping up in level of competition.

But like someone said in another thread: There's no turning back.
He can't go back to fighting bums again.... or he risks losing all credibility.
Let's see how his handlers manage his career from here on out.

Dude scored me serious points. He's alright in mjy book.

It was a good win, but against a man on a losing streak and is several years past his best. Stick him in there with someone who will be cagey and hang around. His record is shit, and this doesn't really say anything being a 3rd loss in a row for Liakovich.

Potentially Wilder means something, but he still seems a bit rubbish to me. He needs to fight a decent fighter who will fight a little bit smart. He really needs to bank a few rounds and fighting washed ups, it's not going to happen.

I showed my brother in law the Price knockout and he watched this one Deontay is good for American boxing and due to the huge fees our premium channels pay that's good for all fans.

I agree.. I am on the wilder bandwagon now! I have no idea if he is ever going to be world champions but one thing for sure is that it's going to be fun whilst it lasts.

He's already beaten better competition than David Price. Like to see him fight Tony Thompson soon or someone like that.

Others have mentioned Solis, Kevin Johnson, Arreola and Stiverene.

I think Thomas Adamek would also be a great test in the near future.

And there's always the other best American prospect, Bryant Jennings.

Hell, Malik Scott, Chisora or Helenius would all be good steps up too.

Robert Helenius (who I also have high hopes for) would be another good opponent as well.

Adamek NOW would be a move in the right direction. A few fights from now he will be getting too old. He is 28-0, but look at the records of most of those guys. They simply can't stand up. This was a step in the right direction, but Adamek would have him facing North.

HIs power can lead to devastating ko's but even casual fans who're attracted to that will inevitably demand a step-up in competition. I actually hesitate to use the word "competition" to describe his opponents thus far because that word usually implies that both sides have a chance of winning.

If Andre Bert spent his whole career fighting the likes of Freddie Hernandez, I'm sure he'd have a similar record to Wilder and an equally impressive knockout reel.

I'm not impressed so far because I like to watch contests between two relatively well-matched fighters rather that see one guy ko hopelessly out-matched opponents.

I'd like to see him fight someone with a pulse next. Even Dominic Guinn would be a big step-up and a move in the right direction.
