Your thoughts on Pacquiao's chin.
What do you think about Pacquiao's chin? How good or bad is it? I say the Marquez knockout was more of a combination of Marquez landing the perfect counter and Pacquiao's punch resistance deteriorating with age. I mean, he'll be 35 soon, which means he's getting up there.
I say his punch resistance is deteriorating because he had already been floored prior to the knockout.
Re: Your thoughts on Pacquiao's chin.
His chin was excellent. He puts himself in terrible position against certain punches and takes full impact as a result, but that's not a slight on his beard. You've got to remember he is a very small man, the bio mechanics are a lot different and nobody is immune to the kind of shot he took. I can't think of anybody that size, who has moved up so rapidly and been able to soak up genuine bombs period. Lots of guys that haven't been prone to getting hit the same way, and indeed some who may have had slightly better chins, I don't know. If Oliver McCall could somehow face the HW equivalent of Marquez, and got caught with the same shot while airborne, he might have gone.

Manny's chin is great, he just got caught with a perfect punch.
When you get one guy sitting down and throwing with power, and the other guy LUNGING into that punch chin first, 9/10 times that's a knockout. When your moving into a punch and you don't see it coming, forget about having a good chin, you're gonna end up on your ass (or your face, in Manny's case).
Re: Your thoughts on Pacquiao's chin.
I'd say it might be a little less now after the shot. Something like that has a habit of taking a little starch out of fighters. As has been said already. It wasnt a chin thing. Pac stepped into marquez, and his foot collided with Marquez's leg rather that touching down where it should to throw his own shot. For a second he took his eye off the ball to glance down and was tipping one one foot into a shot he didn't see thrown by a guy who bulked up and practiced landing that shot. Double the force, none of the anticipation and half the position. It all happened in a second and that's all it took.
The first knocked down of pac spoke more to me about Marquez's prep than the final one did.

Pacquiao has an excellent chin. Cast iron.
Re: Your thoughts on Pacquiao's chin.
Manny has one of the greatest chins ever in Boxing. Without a great chin, it would be nearly impossible to move up multiple divisions to beat bigger men with bigger punches.
Marquez' KO punch was so perfectly timed and places that it would have knocked out anybody. IT sure aint no indication of how Pac's chin is.
He might never be the same because of this.. something like Paul Williams and Hatton

Its merely discussion my friend..Its what makes the forums. I don't think there is any satisfaction of pac getting Ko'd in the previous comments. More like concern.
Re: Your thoughts on Pacquiao's chin.
I was very happy to see Pacquiao get KTFO by Marquez because I'm one of the people who believes he beat Pacquaio twice (1st and 3rd fight, I think Pac won the 2nd one) and got jobbed out of well deserved wins. So to finally see him get what he deserves in a way that the judges couldn't fuck him was a great thing to see.

Pac's chin was one of boxings best. Not any more. Marquez cracked it. Once it's been cracked ain't nothing putting it back together to what it once was. John Mugabi had a hell of a chin. Had never been hurt before. Took Hagler 11 rounds to crack it. Eventually he did. And there was no putting it back. Next 2 name opponents Mugabi faces he doesn't make it out the first round
