Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
Didn't know where it was being televised, so I didn't see it from the beginning. But that was a pretty good scrap last night. Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. beat previously unbeaten Mexican fighter Guillermo Avila. Lots of good action in that fight, as both were throwing hard, accurate punches. I'm happy for Wilfredo, who has been on a minor skid as of late. I like his style, and I think he's pretty talented and fun to watch. I think they rushed him a bit early in his career... but the potential is still there.
He's got this weird grudge against JuanMa Lopez for some reason. And right now I think JuanMa loses to him easily should they meet in the ring. JuanMa looked downright horrible against Mikey Garcia, as if he's lost every boxing skill he ever displayed early in his career.
A pleasant surprise was watching Wilfredo's younger brother Israel fighting on the same card, and getting a decision victory in what was a pretty good fight also. I must say.... Wilfredo Vazquez Sr., who was a damn good fighter in his own right.... must be pretty proud to have two sons performing well in the boxing ring.

Obviously I don't give him too much of a chance against a Rigondeaux, but I've seen him fight on several occasions and he's probably a little better than you're giving him credit for. Is this the first time you've seen him fight? Styles make fights... and he was fighting a hard-punching, unbeaten young fighter. Still.... can't beat being live at a fight to see the action close up and personal. That's for sure.
Re: Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
Caught it in a community access channel showing KTLA (?) of all places. Was a good fight but Vazquez looked to be on his bicycle most of the fight with a free swinging wide frame kid holding his own. Didn't quite make out the last round KD or if they ruled a slip but thought it was tighter than 116-112. He's not the boxer his dad was but few are these days and he'll def get another big fight.
Re: Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
I watched it on Telemundo and i thought it was exciting.. But this fight just showed the level of Vazquez as he struggled against Avilla who had a winning record against a bunch of bums..
The fact that Vaquez struggled with an opponent of this level just shows his lack of amatuer pedigree and his limits. Not only this fight but he's been slipping since few fights back, often getting hit with punches he shouldnt be getting hit with.
Vazquez dont even belong in the same ring with Rigo so stop dreaming, Tito. He couldnt qualify to be Rigo's waterboy.
He should just try to avenge his loss to the ancient Arce lol who raped him..

Ok Finito... maybe you've got an old CRT computer screen which only shows some of the characters. So I'll kindly repost what I said earlier.

Hope this helps. ;)
On the other hand, Vazquez Jr. didn't do all that bad against Donaire, recognized at least at the time as one of the top p4p in the world. And he just ran out of gas against Arce after dominating pretty much the whole fight. You want to call that a "rape" or whatever the hell else you want to call it.... be my guest.
Re: Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
Arce's performance was more of a case of a very good small fighter defying the odds and pulling off an upset, he was on a winning streak going into the fight, not so much Vazquez Jr being overrated, the guy still has less fights than Chavez Jr and yet he's already faced better opposition all around, only REAL name on Chavez' record is in his loss against Martinez (which apart from the final round was what I'd call a raping)

There you go, damnit!!
Throwing undeniable logic at these guys again.
When will you ever learn...
Re: Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
@ Tito & Terrible... Whatever you want to call it, the fact is that a young lion in Vazquez got taken into deep water and knocked out by a shot to shit Arce.. How often does that happen to good fighters? smh
I think you guys are seriously overrating Vazquez' resume while shitting on Chavez'... Ya claim that Vazquez has fought better fighters but I got to disagree with that bigtime.. Even if he did face better opposition which he didnt, he failed the test in the significant bouts. First he got knocked out by Arce who was a shell of his former self, then to Nonito, then to some Japanese bum who couldnt crank an egg to save his life. There you go.. So much for his superior resume .
Chavez has fought a handful of former champions/champions like Rubio, John Duddy, Sebastian Zbik, Andy Lee, and Carlos Molina 2x!!!!! but more importantly, he actually beat these guys unlike Vazquez whose yet to prove himself above the fringe contender level.
SO you guys are wrong. Chavez fought much better competition and came through with flying colors..
How many losses does Wilfredo have again?? and two of those losses come from a grandpa arce and a japanese bum..
Chavez is just a higher caliber fighter than WIlfredo..
Re: Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
Really? You're gonna defend Chavez Jr.'s record with a straight face?
You're trying to impress me because he finally fought a recognizable name in John Duddy in his 42nd pro fight?
And you're gonna prop up Duddy's qualifications to make your case? Really?
While you're at it.... aren't you going to mention who he fought 3 fights later?
The "great" Peter Frigging Manfredo Jr.?
You slipping there, dude.
Yeah.... he finally got around to some better opposition with Rubio and Andy Lee. 'Bout time... don't you think? I mean, some fighters don't even fight 50 fights in their entire career. Why? Because somewhere along the line, they start pro-gre-ssing. At 15-20 fights, they're fighting recognizably good fighters. At 20-30 fights, they're fighting world class fighters, or fighting for championships. Well..... unless you're named Deontay, of course.
Are you going to mention that he outweighed both Rubio and Andy Lee in the ring by 20-30 pounds? Are you going to mention that he's been suspended and fined for using diuretics to lose weight so he can rehydrate to Light HW status? If we're gonna talk caliber of fighter..... let's talk about ALL this stuff.
Yeah.... Arce was way past his prime when he beat Vazquez Jr. In Wilfredo's 22nd pro fight. Who was JCC Jr. fighting in his 22nd pro fight? Some guy in a Guadalajara canteen?
C'mon..... you can defend the JMM's and the Barrera's all you like.... and I'll agree with you. But do me a favor. Don't go out on that fragile limb and try to pass off JCC Jr.'s career for something other than the coddled, padded, bloated record it is.
Re: Vazquez Jr. beats previously unbeaten Guillermo Avila (good fight)
Vazquez has fought 2 name fighters. And he lost to both. And if you can score without bias he lost this fight too. I find it hilarious how the fools sucking Vazquez dick are always talking about Chavez weight advantage over fighters at same time ignoring the fact that Vazquez best win is over Marvin Sonsona. A 19 year old kid who was forced to jump up not one but two weight classes. But lets just ignore that and keep bobbing away

ummm yea, did you not see the Molina fights? He won both of them and as was the norm until last week, he got fucked over in both
hell Matt Vanda got robbed in the first fight, that's already 3 of his early fights that should have been losses and did you seriously try to use John Duddy as an example of the type of "good" opponents that Jr faced? hahahaha yea that just proves the shitty quality of guys he fought for about 95% of his career
Rubio hasn't done shit but get his ass beat by an already mediocre post-Hopkins Pavlik, knock out the same Vanda that beat Jr while both sported a weight advantage, and knock out a prospect who turned out to be a never was,
Chavez was given a gift against Zbik, and well Andy Lee? Really? the same Lee who himself was KTFO by Jr's next opponent, and was getting his ass beat by the bum that is McEwan until well a lucky come from behind win in the final round, I'm shocked you didn't mention the other guy that Chavez has fought from The Pretender in Manfredo Jr and that you didn't try and build it up to be a huge win, cause you might of actually had enough sense to realize that you already wrote down enough stupid shit trying to build up a guy who even with a HUGE height and weight advantage still manages to look mediocre against weak opposition, but hey, since he's the son of a legend we'll pretend that he's actually a good fighter :-X

Let's look at how this thread started, shall we?
It was started to mention a pretty good fight between Vazquez Jr. and Avila. Props were given to BOTH FIGHTERS..... REGARDLESS OF AVILA BEING MEXICAN AND VAZQUEZ JR. BEING PUERTO RICAN.
Then..... as is becoming increasingly common and tiresome..... your mentally-challenged friend Finito comes in and f*cks up the thread. Mentally-challenged because he was obviously unable to read my previous comment about Vazquez Jr. not having much of a chance against Rigondeaux.
Two innocent bystanders commented IN NORMAL, HUMAN FASHION on the fight..... but have since been scared off by the typical and tiresome degeneration of YET ANOTHER THREAD into a Mexican-Puerto Rican insult hurling spree.
Again:
THE THREAD BEGAN BY MENTIONING A GOOD FIGHT BETWEEN VAZQUEZ JR. AND AVILA.... AND GIVING PROPS TO BOTH FOR THEIR EFFORTS.
CAN THESE THREADS BE RESPECTED WITHOUT YOU OR FINITO JUMPING IN AND TALKING ABOUT "DICK-SUCKING" (your favorite subject) OR "RAPE"?!?!?
:vd:
I'm outta here.
