James Toney was even offered the fight with Fury when Haye pulled out.
Scraping the barrel a bit there but spose they need a name.
Cant imagine it would have been for the original date if Wilder wasnt seen as a good enough opponent. Must have been just as a stay busy fight.
Toney is done and should no longer be looked at as a contender or gatekeeper.
Thankfully we only have a couple of years left until someone forces Toney to retire and we don't have to endure any more of his traveling circus.

But Martinez is to big for Cotto. A junior middle that grew out of 154 barely, has now a massive weight advantage over another that out grew 147 and presently fights at 154? Oh I know the irony. Toney would probably outweighs Fury;D

Toney did go the distance with the supposed big puncher Lucas Brown and even had him hurt so stopping Toney wouldn't have been a bad statement for a fill in fight for Fury.
Be interesting to know who else was offered the fight.
Toney got a way slimmer recently, maybe he was able to fight his burger addiction
I want him to make some "hype job" look terrible regardless the outcome
