He's liable to get killed in the ring. The thrashing he took against Vitali was brutal.
I thought he was still in the hospital after big brother beat the crap out of him. Shannon should do his promoting, modeling or whatever he does and stay out of the ring.

I think it was 1996 when Briggs last looked impressive when he got stopped by Lewis in 5 rounds. Now almost two decades later it's hard to believe he us actually in the running for a shot at Wvlad

A Wilder/Briggs fight makes all kindsa sense. But Briggs will duck that as he doesn't want to be the guy to be proven wrong on Wilder.
A way to package this fight is to make this an eliminator for a top contender slot for a belt.
I'll be honest, if Briggs got anywhere near another title shot I'd have to change my shorts but this one just jumped out when mentioned. Wilders people say the whole point of him being crammed on Hopkins card is for "East coast" exposure blah blah. Briggs is anything if durable, ties to last "lineal" title and a current champion...for whatever thats worth...and what screams East coast more than a massive colorful personality from Brooklyn New York ???Quote:

I think our attitudes, post Foreman winning the title at such an old age, have changed greatly. A late 40-something-er can do it. May not hold the title for years on years, but that's another conversation for another day.

briggs got himself into good condition against Vitlai but I highly doubt he can do it again as he is way too old and been out of the ring too long.
