I have the sneaky suspicion that the Russell team will pass. He's my favourite prospect/contender but something is holding this guy back. They turned down a fight with Ponce so I think there is a good chance they turn down Salido.
In addition although Salido I dont think is signed with Top Rank he does seem to work with them and once again we have a Golden Boy fighter in Russell.
In addition Salido is already posing with Lomachenko and the title in a typical pre fight look with the belt being held above their heads.

Russell-Lomachenko would be an incredible wild card fight come to think:cool: Don't know what Russell is doing exactly, but it doesn't seem likely he'd get this fight instead of the Ukranian after sharing that card etc.

You know my friend on paper I would agree with you. I just think Salido kind of takes him to school. I dont mean out boxing him or matching him talent wise but out "knowing" him. He knows every trick and slant in the book. Salido would probably train for this more then anytime in his life just out of pride. How dare they use me as an entrance exam and launch for their next superstar after only one fight. I'd be inclined to maybe take Salido in what some would call an upset. I wouldn't call it that.

That dude won't fight Russell. Anytime you see TBA listed to fight someone he always gets replaced by another opponent. The dude is the biggest ducker in boxing.
